Imagine your tent or small RV (20ish feet total please) set on the edge of a cliffy-knoll overlooking the mouth of the Navarro River where it meets the Pacific Ocean. An ever-changing landscape as the sandbar moves and alters the river's final course. Big fir and hemlock trees frame this magnificent and private parcel.

Firepits, decks and kitchenette with basic utensils provided on site.  Bring plenty of water as there is currently none on site.  Kindling and firewood need to be collected on site (bring your ax) or brought in by campers.  There are solar lights sprinkled around the property but personal flashlights and headlamps could also be handy.

Although very private, please be ever respectful of neighbors with a 10pm noise curfew and pack out what you pack in, leaving only your footprints and perhaps a nice word or two for Skycamp on Hipcamp ;-)

Access to the beach and river - Navarro Beach State Park is only a 2 minute drive down from the property to the adjacent beach road access!

We LOVED every minute of our stay at SkyCamp! My only complaint is that our weekend there wasn't long enough. Kristin was very easy to communicate with and answered all of my questions before our stay. The spot is easy to find and secure with a locked gate. The site is a beautiful piece of land nestled in the trees with views of the Navarro river and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach. We needed a small amount of leveling to get our rooftop tent and awning set up right, but the land itself is fairly level and wasn't a huge issue. The outdoor stove and porch swing were perfect additions to the whole experience. Our only real conplaint would be the nosie heard from Hwy 1 right next to the site, but it wasn't too constant so it didn't bother us too much FYI, there is no service or wifi at the site so it is great for anyone trying to disconnect for a bit. We can't wait to book again!!

This is a very sweet, lovely campsite, very private, yet not far away from a state park, with beach access and a good market in Albion. We didn’t use the fire pits, because they didn’t look sturdy or big enough. And actually the site doesn’t need a fire pit, because it’s safer not to have a fire. We could see all the work that has been done on the site and it was very pretty, especially the planting of succulents in the wheelbarrow. Thanks for affording us the opportunity to enjoy the site.

The view of the Navarro River and the Pacific Ocean. Our home away from home, our 1971 VW bus.

A wonderful private view with so many nice little amenities:
- small picnic table
- a little cute trailer with an assortment of odds & ends: some spices, cooking pans, a bit of cooking oil, some powdered coffee creamer, etc
- both a porch swing and a rope swing from which to take in that stellar view
- small solar lights were very helpful for navigating at night
- an outdoor oven and a few smaller fire pits scattered about
- a very short drive to Albion or Mendo for anything you might need

Very peaceful! We lucked out and we're alone, solitude I sorely needed. Communication was easy and complete.
Thanks Kristin

A great camping spot up in the trees overlooking the river. There are few amenities (as stated on the listing!) so you'll want to bring every thing you need, but there are really nice touches like a few solar powered lights and some seating and fire pits that made our stay comfortable. Although you are somewhat close to the road, the site felt secluded and private while offering a great view. We had a great weekend here!

What a magical place! 20/10! Kristin gave excellent instructions and we had no issue finding the place, it is off the highway down a long driveway which made us still feel secluded but it was convenient to be 10 min away from a local store. Very close to the town of Mendocino where there are amazing shops and restaurants. We loved the security of a double gate. Also, the gated area was wonderful for our off leash pups so we didn’t have to worry about them. The views were amazing despite the fog. We loved all of the personal touches on the property and especially the decks, fire pits, and swinging bench to lounge on! We just loved this space so much and can’t wait to come back! Such a different experience than a crowded campground! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful space with us!

The good things about this location are very good. There is a lovely view out through the trees to the ocean and river, and the privacy is fantastic. From the listing I didn’t realize that right next to where you are staying there is a shipping container, a huge pile of empty bottles, and an old and dirty trailer. Other garbage is there at the site as well. The way in has a sharp turn, so bigger RVs would not be able to do it. For the price we paid of $70 a night, it would make sense to me that the site would be cleaned up enough to be visually more presentable, especially since there are no amenities provided - no bathroom, no water, no wifi, no garbage cans. Especially the piles of empty liquor bottles lying around should be dealt with. If it was cleaned up, it would be a very desirable site with that great view and nice privacy.

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry your feelings are mixed. We collect and use the bottles for the landscaping but have taken your suggestion to store them in a more hidden way. We ask that vehicle length not exceed 20ish feet total, given said sharp turn. Can't do anything about the shipping container which is needed for storage and the trailer, although old and being restored, is cleaned regularly.

Outstanding spot. Unmatchable views, great climb down to even better views and the beach. Pro tip: if you plan on doing the hike, bring a rope! You can afix it to one of the trees heading down the hill to descend and climb back up. Fun and function! They set up a “fireplace” at the site and there are like 3 spots you can set up your tent. So much around to explore! Fort Bragg is awe inspiring! Anyway, terrific location and the site feels like a wonderland. Go and stay!
