Very cool campsite for those looking to have your own space. The hill driving into the campsite should only be attempted with an SUV or truck. One of our party brought a sedan and the host was nice enough to load all his stuff in their car and ferry him down the hill. The campsite is really just a fire pit surrounded by tree covered grass and dirt. Very basic and exactly what we were looking for. There is an outhouse a couple minutes walk from the main campsite. During the day we took a few different hikes exploring the property, which used to be a boyscout camp. There are a few abandoned structures and fairly well maintained hiking trails to explore. The hosts had a couple of dogs that hung around during the day just doing dog stuff. The campsite is in a valley so there wasn't much wind when we were there. There were also almost no bugs, we saw one or two mosquitos and no flies even though we were cooking out in the open. This may have been because it was March and slightly chilly. The hosts also drew us a map of the property and it was surprisingly very accurate and we were able to find all the landmarks easily. The hosts were also very friendly and after explaining the topography just let us do our own thing. You won't get any cell service at the camp (or even in the town around the camp) so be prepared for that. You'll probably only want to drive down that hill when you arrive and leave so bring anything you need with you. I would definitely recommend this spot for a group looking to rough it.
Off roading to seclusion
Absolutely amazing property and campground. Carlotta was the most friendly and welcoming person despite us being late. I will say to anyone worried their car will not be able to make it - it is about a mile long bumpy uneven dirt road. High ground clearance necessary unless you want to be scraping the bottom of your car the whole way in and out. My friend drove his Tesla in and it was a rough ride. 4 wheel drive is nice to have but you can make it in and out without it.
We had the old Boy Scout campsite that we had no complaints about. The property dog, Hallow, was the best addition of our trip. She would come and hang out with us throughout our trip and was a very good girl.
I look forward to booking again and potentially would like to bring a bigger group. Thank you!!!
Carlotta’s place was incredible! Quiet, secluded camp sites with 5 or 6 going trails. She was very friendly and easy to communicate with - we had a fantastic experience!
There is a bumpy dirt road leading to the campsites - a few times we weren’t sure if the sedan we were in would make it, but bigger cars will have no problem.
Carlotta and her husband were extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Very secluded and private! Stunning views on the entire horizon. If you are trying to camp in East County, this is the only spot you should consider!
Picture perfect and amazing hosts
Our stay at Kings Creek Valley Ranch was absolutely perfect. We had a very large group of people and brought in our own music production. The hosts were extremely accommodating and made our stay there so much more enjoyable. Carlotta went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed and that the other guests in our group were comfortable. That's not to mention how breathtaking the property is!! It feels so secluded and tranquil once you get out there and if you forgot anything the nearby town is not too far away. Overall we had an amazing weekend and will definitely be back next year!
The campsite was amazing and very secluded. It was the perfect place to disconnect for a weekend. Carlotta and her husband were very friendly and welcoming. We can't wait to come back!
Property was beautiful and peaceful! Nice place to get out of town and outdoors. We were the only campers there, but the campsites are spread out so you still have privacy away from other campers. Lots of trees and open space for tents. We definitely plan to go back! Thank you!
