Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window. With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining. A Berky filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets. Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors. There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill, propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too. The creek runs year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day. We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well as a hot water kitchen sink that you can share with other campers. You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks and horses. We have three dogs on the ranch, a deaf and incredibly sweet pitbull ( he is a food thief so store food and garbage as though raccoons were a problem), a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide) and a new pup Boston Bulldogge, Astrid. We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country. Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away. Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bikes if we have them available but can't guarantee any. Our location is a bikers' dream as the 13 mile scenic road takes you all the way into SLO.
NOTE: If you want to bring others to camp, please note that they need to bring their own tents and supplies, we only have room for two but welcome self sufficient campers to join you :) also, we have a camp stove you can use to cook on but bring your own little green propane canister.

Perfect weekend getaway
I can’t recommend this location enjoy! Lorna was very responsive ahead of our stay and the Gnome trailer was even cuter in person and truly had everything we needed. I will definitely be returning.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience… the Cozy Gnome is a magical place. Lorna is very welcoming. The grounds are beautiful, the camper is perfect: clean, has the essential things you will need, a very comfy hammock under these beautiful trees, a fun swing for kids/adults… and Pluto, a super friendly dog. It’s secluded yet just a short drive to Avila Beach, SLO, Montaña de Oro. Our three teenagers sleep in a tent next to the camper. They loved walking around the beautiful grounds… checking out the horses, ducks, chickens and playing with Pluto. This was the perfect getaway …we’d love to come back and highly recommend this gem!
The “Gnome Home” was the perfect getaway for my girlfriend and I. The atmosphere was so peaceful and the dogs were so welcoming and playful. Lorna was very helpful whenever we had any questions.
Solitude in a peaceful canyon
This special spot was exactly what I was looking for. The location, the trailer, the peace and quiet and visits from animals made this such a lovely trip.
The trailer was spectacularly remodeled (I can say that was confidence as I own a vintage trailer that my husband and I remodeled and it was a lot of work). It’s very cozy, the bed is uber comfy and I loved all of the windows to enjoy the views.
One thing that would have been nice is a little bit of guidance or some info inside the trailer as what to do if anything is needed as there is no wifi or cell reception (for me with Verizon at least). If there was issue I wouldn’t have known where to go as there are several structures on the property and I was never greeted by anyone to ask any questions.
My favorite was drinking my coffee and watching deer drink from the creek. The most wonderful way to start your day.
Fun and funky little place. The trailer was comfortable and the property is nice. Pluto is the perfect mascot and seemed to be at our beck and call whenever we were on-site. Sweet pup. Make sure to read all of the details in the listing and reservation instructions and write the gate code down somewhere. I had really spotty cell service in the canyon and had a delay figuring out how to get in. And do note it is a small walk-in on a slope to the trailer in case you have a lot of stuff.
Had a blast here! Loved the cute little home and had everything we needed to cook and the bed was very comfy. Pluto was the best tour guide and entertainer! This was the perfect little getaway from the day to day grind and we definitely will look at staying here again when we are in the area. Beautiful grounds and great location near the beach and SLO.
Great location, plenty of solitude!
Fabulous, pics don't even do it justice! Very private, lots of solitude and wonderful views of the surrounding hills. The location is perfectly snug between Avila and SLO. Favorite part was the outdoor shower!! Excellent stay all around.
We had a wonderful time glamping in the Gnome Home! The property was beautiful and peaceful and the trailer was very cozy. Every morning Pluto, Lorna's pup, would come greet us and hang out while we woke up and drank coffee. The bed was SO comfy and we slept extremely well. The compostable toilet was super cool and easy to use; and as other guest's have mentioned had a fresh smell of wood chips. Loved showering outdoors, especially at night and looking up at the stars. We'd love to come back and highly recommend this gem!
Peaceful, beautiful, wonderful
We had an absolute blast at the Gnome Home. Tucked away next to a creek this spot is so beautiful. Not too far from town or any activity you'd like to do (wine tasting, beaches, dinners, etc.), but still far enough away to feel off the grid and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is no wifi or service and that's exactly what we wanted. The outdoor shower is a great experience and the outhouse is self-explanatory. Super comfy bed, easy to use kitchen, and the outdoor deck is so nice to soak up the sun on. We cannot WAIT to come back!
