Wonderful spot to camp, dark skies for stargazing, and well-designed campsite layout. Compost toilet easy to use and non-stinky! Very private and quiet, even heard owls calling in the night time.
I loved this place. It is 3 miles from the coast and was quiet and peaceful. I liked having the whole place to myself. I didn't use the tent because I had my dog with me but it looked quite comfy. The composting toilet felt clean and easy. Kim had plenty of water available.
Nice private spot and only about ten minutes from Mendocino. Great night sky and it was very peaceful and quiet. Slept like a baby! Kim came by and checked in on me which was nice but I pretty much had everything I needed between the level spot for my van, cool composting toilet, and plenty of fresh water.
What a great experience
What a great spot,
Secluded and tucked away in a manzanita forest yet close enough to do all the coastal activities around Mendocino. What more could you ask for, this site is perfect for those looking to check out of technology for a few days and just relax. The host was really responsive to questions and was very nice on check in. We brought our little 5x9 teardrop camper and it tucked in nicely to the site. We spent 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it here.
I highly recommend this HipCamp option and look forward to coming again sometime.
Pretty and comfortable
Very pretty and comfortable spot in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. Bring your own tent if your dog sleeps with you in the tent.Kim requests no dogs in his tent which makes good sense because it would get trashed pretty quickly otherwise. Bring a tarp or two to cover anything you want to stay dry overnight- the fog rolls in and brings a lot of moisture. Lots to do and see in this sweet location!
We arrived late afternoon. It was still light. We had no problem finding the address. The site is in a wooded area within a rural residential/ small holdings area. It is delightfully calm and private. You hear very occasional traffic from the road but it is very quiet otherwise. It is a sunny spot with shade. Lovely sunny mornings and wonderful star display on clear nights. The tent with mattress was very welcome. We also put up a tent for the kids. There was plenty of space for this. The compost loo was great, and we had plenty of water for cooking, drinking and washing over the four nights we were there.
A little peace of privacy.
This site was perfect for the the price. We had everything we needed. Water, private toilet, table and chairs, tent if need be, and our pup was welcomed. Close beautiful drive to the ocean allowed us to stay out all day and come back to a quiet private place to rest. Bring your mosquito spray cause they are ready for the attack. Caution if you have a low car, there is a dip at the entrance to the camp. There are clear instructions for the composting toilet. Drive slow and you won’t miss the turn off.
What a cool place. Beautiful and unique. The stars at night were incredible! Bring a shade, the sun gets real hot during the day. If you are bringing dogs, know they aren’t allowed in the tent. We’re glad we had a back up plan!
