Baby goats and rope swings
This is such a special Hipcamp! Do you like baby goats? Of course you do. What about rope swings? Naturally. So, where could you possibly enjoy both of these activities in one relaxing and spacious slice of nature? Ohana Goat Ranch — that’s where! Ken and his family made us feel right at home and were always just a text away. The highlight of each morning was definitely when Ken would show up with the latest additions to their herd, Buck and Nina, a pair of adorable baby goats that we had the pleasure of bottle-feeding. Obviously, goats grow so if you’re looking to get in on the bottle action, you might want to hurry up!
In all seriousness, this really is a great Hipcamp. It is quite spacious and offers plenty of privacy. There is a horseshoe court, the aforementioned rope swing, and an immaculately clean port-a-potty. One thing I would mention, there is about a 50-100 yard walk along a paved path from the area where you park to the actual campsite. Again, Ken is very accommodating and provides a Gorilla Cart so that the trips from the car to the site are quick and easy, but anyone dealing with limited mobility may find this aspect difficult as the port-a-potty is also in the same area. Personally, we really enjoyed the occasional scenic walks back and forth from the site.
Overall, we definitely recommend visiting this Hipcamp, and we will absolutely be back!
This campsite was such a good find! We came from San Diego so it was a quick drive up and the directions were clear. The campsite is a beautiful secluded grove with a ton of shade and so much room to play. The goats are the CUTEST things ever and they’re suuuper chill. We were provided water to put out our campfires and the host was super quick to respond if we had any questions. The porta-potty was very clean and I usually complain about them but this one was nice because we were the only ones using it. We can’t wait to book here again!
Beautiful and fun!
We really enjoyed our time at Ohana Goat Ranch!
My children loved bottle feeding and playing with the sweet baby goats. Ken is a wonderful host, welcoming and very hospitable. He made sure we had everything we needed. We were pleased to find he even provided firewood and a kitchen set-up! That was a major plus! There are lovely hammocks to lounge in, and ample shade from many mature trees. The palms, tiki torches and the beautiful sounds of birds from the neighboring aviary, gave a really cool tropical vibe. The rope swing was awesome fun for the little ones! If you like archery, talk to Ken about bringing your bows. We chatted before hand and he set-up several 3D targets that were perfect for practicing our archery skills. We just gifted our 7y/o her first bow during this trip, and she had so much fun practicing! It’s a very private feel with no road noise. We slept very well.
The campsite is a short walk from the parking area. Ken provides a large cart to easily haul your camp gear. The bathroom is by the parking area. We bring our own camp potty when car camping. I recommend bringing your own and a privacy tent if you have young kids or just want to have a potty close by.
Fun times at the goat ranch
Had a great time at the Ohana Goat Ranch. The campsite was spacious and ample shade. The hosts were very helpful. Ken brought the goats and we had the chance to feed them. I will definitely stay here again.
My friends and I enjoyed camping here so much! The goats were so sweet and adorable and the campsite was beautiful and peaceful. Ken was very nice and easy to communicate with, we loved learning about all his goats. We would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone :)
