WE WERE NOT BURNED OUT IN THE LAVA FIRE!!! SO GRATEFUL! It will be a bit burnt out as you drive in but once in your campsite you cannot see much if any of the burned area. This property is located just off the Volcanic Legacy Hwy 97 about 7 miles north of Weed, CA. Mount Shasta in full view all year round. There is a large snow mobile park about 15 miles further up Hwy 9

This property is located just off the Volcanic Legacy Hwy 97 about 7 miles north of Weed, CA. Mount Shasta in full view all year round. There is a large snow mobile park about 15 miles further up Hwy 97 that offers groomed trails in the winter and horseback riding paradise in the spring summer and fall. You must bring your own horse. I have limited unsheltered open chapparal electric fenced paddocks for boarding horses as well. You will have the shade of two large ponderosa trees in the morning and afternoon and a picnic table at Campsite #1 as well as a drive through circular driveway. Campsite #1 is closest to the hay barn, host, horses and portapotty. Campsite #2 and #3 have a picnic table and full drive through circular driveways with open high desert chapparal. All campsites have full unobstructed views of Mt Shasta and surrounding ridges, "whaleback", "haystacks", 'sheep's rock". NO OUTSIDE FIRES of any kind are allowed June 1-Sept 1, 2021. I have water available most of the time from a large 2500 gal water tank and hose. There is a portapotty service on the property by the haybarn. Please pack all trash out. The city of Mount Shasta is approximately 20 miles south. The city of Weed is approximately 7 miles south. Yreka is 20 miles north on I5.

Beautiful, remote, super convenient spot right off the 5S. Breathtaking sunrises and sunsets with the view of Mt Shasta. Directions were easy and host was very communicative. There’s areas to walk, and port a potty was super clean. Recent forest fires have come through and the property is speckled with areas that were burned and green poking through. Absolutely would recommend and use as an overnight anytime again while traveling. Thank you for a secluded spot under the mountain to give pause and feel small in nature.
Beautiful and quiet site!
Camping at Juniper Spur Ranch was great! Site #3 was great, felt totally private and had an amazing view of Mt. Shasta. Patrice was an accommodating host and very nice! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone.
Peaceful quiet stress-free
Stayed here whilst on a 3 week roadtrip. Easy enough to find but by following the detailed directions given! Nice horses and clean toilet. Such a shame about the recent fires as the views were obstructed by smoke but have seen photos and looks beautiful otherwise! Quite a few scorpions came out in the evening (obviously can’t be avoided) but something to be aware of as we had our puppy who likes to chase and eat anything
The place is open with amazing views all around. Also, wildfires, yes, you can see them very close. We spent 1 night here. The place was as described by the host. Lots of burned trees and bushes. I can see coming here at another time of the year w/o fear of wildfires and spending more than one night there.
Patrice's camp has a beautiful view of Mt. Shasta. It was a really pretty spot with some sweet horses and plenty of space for camping. The manzanita that surrounds are so beautiful and i fell asleep to the mysterious nighthawk sounds! Patrice is such a thoughtful and thorough communicator. I'd highly recommend this spot to others!
Juniper spur ranch visit
Our stay at Juniper Spur Ranch was delightful! It was close enough to civilization to for supplies and distant enough for solace.
The beautiful northern view of Mt Shasta and it’s plains was impressive. Passing through the recently burn area made us value the delicate environment of the ranch.
Visiting the gorgeous horses was delightful. Highly recommended.
Patrice was super clear and communicative with our stay. Even though our plans changed, she was professional and a pleasure to work with. Most definitely we will be staying in the future.
I loved staying at Juniper Spur Ranch! There are four beautiful horses on the property and two very friendly dogs. Patrice is a lovely host, the view is really special, and overall the ranch had a very cozy feeling as the sun was setting. Would definitely stay again!
