Beautiful and chill glamping spot
Jughandle Farm is a beautiful spot to enjoy nature, and the Orchard Cabin provides some extra privacy and comfort. We loved the deck and view over the field (we saw deer!), as well as the fire pit, picnic table, and cozy indoor wood stove. It’s a quick walk to Jug Handle Beach and other hiking options, and a short drive up to Fort Bragg / Noyo for delicious seafood and beer. Super fun and chill spot.
Only downside is some traffic light noise from the highway, but that’s true of just about any coastal location. Bring extra toilet paper for the porta potty — the main one ran out our first day there.
Orchard cabin delightful
This was just perfect for my fiancé and I to share a few nights on the Mendocino coast. The location is SOOOO perfect being right between Mendocino (town) and Fort Bragg allowing for easy planning of activities in either direction.
A walk to the beach and to an amazing hike up an “ecological staircase”
Our cabin was perfect-clean and cozy with a little wood stove that kept us more than warm enough! The deck is great for relaxing and playing a game (backgammon for us this time) and sipping some wine. We had our own fire ring/BBQ pit and picnic table. We also brought our tea kettle to warm water for “bathing” and cleaning dishes.
I would definitely come back and will be telling friends!
A place to return to.
Our stay at the Orchard Cabin at Jughead was restful and just what we needed after weeks of packing to move. Our host, Marie, was responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. We liked it so much, we'll return (this time for camping) to celebrate our anniversary.
Affordable glamping at it's best!
The rustic Orchard Cabin was perfect for me and my two children. The contact less check in was very easy, the cabin location felt very private, just a short walk from where you park. It was great to have the deck overlooking the orchard with a small table and chairs. The cabin was very tiny and cozy with the woodstove. The loft bed felt a little unsafe for my children since there isn't any kind of guard rail keeping you from tumbling out, but I slept up there with no problems. It just might be a little tricky if you didn't feel comfortable going up and down the ladder. The shared outdoor sink and porta potty were also a short walk away, since no one was staying in the other two cabins that also use these, we had it all to ourselves. We walked right from our cabins to the Ecological Staircase hike as well as the gorgeous beach just across the street. It rained most of the time we were there and I felt very grateful we weren't tent camping!
The orchard cabin was simply wonderful! Compared to the other two cabins it was much more private, and overlooking the orchard was great. The cabin has a deck with a table and its own picnic bench, but it is worth mentioning that all 3 cabins share 1 fire pit near the outdoor kitchen. We had the fire pit to ourselves both nights anyway though. Overall would highly recommend to anyone looking for a rustic and comfortable getaway at a great price!
The simplicity of cozy
A cabin so nice, I stayed here twice! The proximity to hiking, the beach, and nature, in general, was a real treat. The Orchard Cabin is set further away than the other cabins on the property, which makes for a quiet and peaceful stay. I loved firing up the wood stove in the evening and drinking hot coffee on the deck in the morning. While this cabin doesn't have it's own portapotty or fire ring, they're only a short walk away and I did not have any issues sharing the communal facilities with the other guests. I highly recommend this cabin if you're attracted to cozy simplicity and find that, when in nature, less is more :)
