JP Mountain Rangers

We enjoyed the freedom to come and go as we needed. I absolutely loved falling asleep to the coyotes, crickets and frogs of the valley! It was a huge change from city life for us. There is a working "outhouse" (bring your potty paper with cuz there is none on property and it sucks being caught with your pants down... If you know what I mean). The sunrise and sunsets are blissfully beautiful. We enjoyed every moment and felt safe on this mini slice of mountainside heaven. I found our host to be helpful and ready if we needed her. We appreciated her kindness and welcoming attitude. I highly recommend this property to enjoy for yourself.

It was a delight to stay at JP Mountain Rangers! I reserved Site 2, which was spacious and had incredible views of the town and mountains. As close as I was to “civilization,” it was surprising how quiet the area was and enjoyed a great nights sleep! My dog and I even got to do a little morning hike up the hill and was immersed in beautiful wildflowers. Also, as a female traveler, I felt very safe at this location. I can’t wait to book this site again!

A gem on the outskirts of San Diego. This property was tucked away in Escondido and centrally located to all the places we wanted and needed to go. Our trip was a combination of work and vacation, and we ended up extending our stay here. Both camping areas were private and quiet for being in the middle of a city. Coyotes ran through almost nightly and hawks and jays began their rounds early, including perching on our tent poles. Plenty of space for us to spread out without bothering anyone, and a beautiful view of the sunset each evening and of the clouds peeling back from the valleys each morning. Quick hike up to the top of the property gives 360-degree views! We’d stay here again.

My dog absolutely loved this place, I wanted to do something special for her. I enjoyed unwinding and reading my book while she explored the plants and wildlife in the surrounding area.

Excellent views and incredible camp site. Definitely recommend this spot!!

Great location overlooking the town below. Private sites with great sunset and sunrise views. Convenient to stores, Palomar mountain and other local attractions. Easy to find on a map and both site are flat with plenty of space to setup. Communicative host. Would stay again.
