Glamping at its finest!
We arrived after dark and Joseph had the lights on waiting for us! The cabin has all the amenities you would need! A sink and stove in the kitchen with all the pots and pans necessary to make a meal. An outdoor bbq if you want to grill too! Loved the addition of the propane heater! It took the chill off in the morning! The bed (they have sheets and blankets!) was comfy and the little inside dining table was perfect for us to eat and play cards. The outside bathroom/shower was adorable. Way better than any campground you could stay at!
All you need to bring is food and clothes and you are set here! It's a 20-minute drive on a winding road to the village of Carmel Valley. Enjoy the scenery and all the ranches!
We truly enjoyed the quiet of the cabin and would 100% recommend to anyone looking to do some glamping in a beautiful area!
Amazing location and beautiful cabin. Hosts were wonderful and so helpful with sightseeing recomendations and directions. There were so many thoughtfull unexpected touches to make the cabin comfortable and homely. This is a off grid spot to really get away and be in nature from a cozy cabin, and close enough to wine tasting country if you go exploring. This cabin was the highlight of our entire California trip.
Cute and cozy
We only stayed in the area for one night and we wish we had stayed longer. The cabin was really charming! It’s very cute and cozy and it would have been lovely to spend a lovely slow morning hanging out. The proximity to town and the wine in the area is great 👌. And Joseph was a great host, making sure we had everything we needed.
Tidy, warm getaway!
This cabin was a wonderful getaway that exceeded my expectations!
The hosts had great communication, welcomed me, and left the lights on for me. They checked in to make sure everything was good, and then gave me plenty of space to decompress on my solo retreat.
The cabin has a lot of thoughtful amenities, including tea, a kettle, cooking essentials and herbs, an icebox, and a very intuitive and powerful heater that kept the cabin cozy. Impressively, the shower had GREAT hot water. The space was very clean and the bed was comfortable, and there were cute details throughout the space. It was very quiet at night and filled with light in the morning through the large screened windows.
-The lights inside are each touch-activated (took me a sec to realize there wasn't a switch I was missing)
-There are two points where Cachagua Road connects to the main Carmel Valley Road: one where you turn directly on to Cachagua (closer to Carmel Valley), and one where you turn on Tassajara and then continues into Cachagua (closer to Jamesburg). If it's night or you don't like heights, I'd recommend taking the one that uses Tassajara road, as the other route has a lot of winding turns over significant heights, sometimes with no guardrails. Pretty during the day, but not as fun at night. You'll see what I mean on Google Maps.
-Don't miss Pfeiffer Beach!
Joseph was an amazing host with excellent communication, gave us great suggestions of things to do in the area and made sure we got settled in with everything we needed in this perfect little cabin. There was no shortage of hospitality he provided. It was cozy and warm and a breath of fresh air- we would definitely come back!
Highly recommend, absolute bliss!
We had the most magical stay- everything was truly so perfect!! Joseph was very kind & sooo helpful! We felt so safe & welcome. The cabin was absolutely stunning... it had everything we could possibly need for a weekend getaway. The room was spacious, the bed was cozy & there were nice blankets to keep us bundled up, the bathroom/ shower were nice & the little kitchen was amazing & stocked with the essential cookware to cook a delicious meal. We enjoyed our morning matcha on the porch/ front area, lounging in the chairs and looking out at the beauty surrounding it. We were blown away by the beauty and serenity of this cabin... the nature surrounding it is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Gorgeous trees, fresh air, birds chirping made the mornings straight from a fairy tale... & the stars at night were SO bright & clear! It was about 45 min from Carmel by the Sea & a bit longer to Big Sur but the drive itself is pretty. HIGHLY recommend staying here! It’s the perfect little escape... I wish I could’ve stayed longer :)
Cozy carmel valley cabin
We had a lovely time at Joseph's cabin, which he built himself! The woodwork and craftsmanship really is remarkable, -- we thoroughly enjoyed the off-grid set up and thoughtful touches throughout such as the propane heater, fully stocked kitchen, comfy futon, and outdoor BBQ. The property was really inspiring to us, as off-grid "glamping" afficionados to experience such a functional space with everything you'd need for a private getaway. Chilling on the porch with a view of the neighbor's vineyard was so relaxing - and the hot shower was a real treat after a long day. The 25min country road leads to Carmel Valley Village- wineries and restaurants, and Big Sur beyond that. We enjoyed some whale watching in Monterrey the next morning and it was the perfect location for both Big Sur, Carmel, and Monterrey. The host lives on the other side of the property, within a hop and skip away if you'd need anything - Joseph is very accommodating and we'd love to come back and stay a little longer next time!
