I booked this site 6 hours before we were arriving in town to make an end of life visit for a family member. While i spoke to John over text directly after booking regarding what time we'd arrive and accessing the site, there is no address on the trip page after booking...it just said "call 1 hr before arrival" and John sent me a gate code. I didn't think much of this since there was a map link with the location but we ended up not being able to reach John when we arrived and looked endlessly for the address on the map. In the morning, after boondocking on the street, John said that the map listed the wrong address and when asked, he agreed to give us a refund. We have not received any.notice of refund from hipcamp so we processed a charge back with our credit card company. While i try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, this listing has no reviews and there is no company or info listed online for "Remi Ponics Farm". I also could not figure out why someone would not give confirmed reservations the address but would send us a gate code. That makes absolutely no sense. The whole thing just felt scammy.
So far, i've paid for a 1 night stay at a site that i have no proof actually exists ...on a "farm" that has zero digital footprint. Proceed with caution.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. We booked this for one night for our 35' Class A RV+motorcycle trailer. First, we could not even find the place; the address given does not show up properly on Google – it was several miles off. According to the only other review for this place, we are not the first ones with this problem. Perhaps some instructions or warning would have been helpful. When we called the hour before (as requested in his posting) he THEN informs us that there was no electricity hook-up, as promised in the posting. He offered to cancel, but we were almost there, and it was a bit late to make new plans. And we could get by. And it still had water, which was another thing we were looking for (more on that later). He was very helpful in getting us to find the place. However, the dirt road to it didn’t have potholes… it had craters. An endless road of craters, rocking and twisting our rig every which way. The next morning I go out to fill the water tanks and guess what? No water either. We will be requesting a full refund from Hipcamp, and recommend everyone else stay away.
The spot may be ok for camper vans or tents, but nothing more, and make sure to update navigation instructions and amenities!!!
