Welcome to our beautiful 824 acre cattle ranch with two small ponds! The Canvas Bell Tent brings traditional camping to another level. We are located just outside the small town of Groveland and are just 30 miles from the gate of Yosemite. The Bell tent sits on an elevated platform inside a 2 acre fenced area away from the cattle. Your tent comes furnished with sleeping pads, cots (arriving August 26th), carpeting, and bedside tables. There's running water at the site, which you can use to fill up your water bottles or use for cooking. We also have two rocking chairs on the tent platform where you can sip on a beverage and take in the beauty around you.

When exploring our property you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We're not far from town either -- in just a few minutes you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlor.

When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization and it's real quiet. This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquility of nature. Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or the other countless species of birds. This is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, small family or a couple looking for a place to stay near Yosemite.

A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring. We're not far from Wards Ferry Road, Groveland, Lake Don Pedro and other interesting places.

We have a regularly cleaned porta-potty just a short walk away from the glamping tent. We can't wait for you to book your stay with us!

John’s camp is a lovely glamping option perfectly placed at a great spot on huge ranch. The spot had great views of the rolling hills, gorgeous sunsets, numerous stars in the night all at 10 min drive from Groveland. The cots were comfortable with new mattresses on them and there was enough enough room for the two of us in the big canvas tent. There were cute, little touches in the tent and on the porch making this spot awesome. The portapotty was super clean too. Yosemite is about an hour away but there’s plenty to do in Stanislaus National Forest which is much closer. In the other direction are a couple lakes with good water sports options. John’s ranch has a plenty of cool things to checkout too like an abandoned gold mining spot, a spot that natives used back in the day to crush acorn, etc. John is a gracious host who gave us a walk through of the campsite and gave us pointers on things to do around and on the ranch. We also saw turkeys, quails and some cows on the ranch. Highly recommend this place!

Fun and adventurous stay tucked back on a secluded farm. Cozy little yurt with two rocking chairs give you an awesome view of the sunset. Very close to the Yosemite park entrance as well.
