Really pretty spot
I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come again. The owner met me and showed me to a spot. Lovely views and a peaceful night of rest. Very easy to find based on the directions posted. I could hear the Creek, the cows and just faint sounds of cars occasionally but didn’t bother me a bit.
Really pretty spot.
The host was surprised to see me despite me texting and emailing without reply many times. I arrived at 9:30 at night just as I had advised. He said he had been slammed. It wasn’t the warmest welcome. Kind of awkward, to be honest.
You need all wheel drive to access the “camping spots” which are just in his field. The grass is tall and there’s been no real work done to make this a “HIP” camp. There is a portapotty in the middle of the grass. I didn’t use it as I was concerned about ticks. This wasn’t a good fit for me. Win some. Lose some.
Quiet resting place just south of the Oregon border. We used it as a one night stay driving north - easy to find just off the freeway. The river was lovely, the cows came to greet us in the morning. It is close to the fish hatchery and reservoir up Copco Road. There is no campsite per se- just drive across a pasture to the river and pick a level area. We were the only ones there which suited us fine.
Peaceful river stay
Peaceful river stay - we stayed one night on David’s property alongside the Klamath River. We found flat ground for our small van in the field and enjoyed being the sole campers. David is hospitable, his location is close to the highway making this an ideal place to rest en route along I5. The birds were plentiful - red wing blackbirds, osprey, turkeys, geese.
Just fine overall. David met me on the road and escorted me to the campsite. Site 3 is super dusty... fine for a quick stopover but if you're looking for one of the prettier, grassy sites in the photos I'd ask the host for a site rec before booking!
A van by the river
The river was just outside my campervan door -- couldn't get more in tune with nature than that. The site is a bit of a bumpy ride over a field to get to, but outstanding scenery and very quiet. A portable toilet was available and the evening fire was lovely. Went on many hikes around the property and probably annoyed many geese and birds (sorry!)
This was such a perfect stop-over on our trip up the I-5! We arrived after dark and the host was so incredibly accommodating and helpful. We were having some issues with our RV getting traction and our dog was having a loud anxiety meltdown, but the host remained patient, attentive, and flexible. We ended up at a wonderfully private site with views that absolutely took our breath away! We would come stay here again in a heartbeat.
