This hut is wonderful in both summer and in the colder months. The outdoor space gives plenty of room to spend time in the sunshine and a battery powered fan and newly installed screen door allow you to enjoy the cool summer night air. The stove makes everything warm and inviting when it is chilly outside.
The hut has cell service, but no electricity, making for a true glamping experience. There are battery powered twinkle lights that add a little magic. Listen for the owls at night and watch deer wander through the meadow.
-The house on the property is visible from the hut, but is 300 feet away and partially obscured, allowing everyone privacy. There are curtains on the hut window if more privacy is desired. -Parking is 150 feet away from the hut.-Please be courteous of noise after 9 PM.-Please use the outdoor counter next to the sink for all camping stoves for fire safety.-Smoking and burning candles or incense is prohibited because of fire danger.

The Hut was lovely. As a solo woman, I felt very safe and comfortable there. Hosts were responsive and helpful with recommendations. I could tell the put care and thoughtful touches into the site. Definitely would return. Great location!
The hut is great! It's well-built and simple. I enjoyed my stay. My only wish, having stayed during the hot summer months, was that the door could have a screen door attached and I wished the big, pretty window opened and had a screen because the airflow was not good enough in the heat.
The out house didn't smell at all (having used composting toilets many times, they often smell but this didn't).
I loved my stay and would stay again, especially in the cooler months.
Perfect any weather weekend getaway
The Honeycomb Hut is a gorgeous little getaway that is only a few minutes from Nevada City but feels like a world away, hidden in the woods! We stayed during a very unusual June rainstorm and the cabin kept us warm, cozy and dry all night and the following morning, with a lovely propane stove. The next day's sunset was beautiful across the little meadow, and the stargazing was perfect. The hostesses were very kind and accommodating of our last-minute, rain-inspired booking. We'll be recommending it to everyone!
Wonderful nevada city escape!
This was our second stay at the Honeycomb Hut and it was absolutely wonderful. The location is great—just a short drive into town and to nearby trails. Staying here is a wonderful glamping experience — in the trees but with a comfortable bed and a clean outhouse bathroom.
Serene hut w great host!
This place was exactly the getaway for us. It was far enough to be unconnected from our daily life but close enough to the city and neighbors for us to feel safe from being inexperienced campers. From the city, we've never even been camping as adults. So having this beautiful hut near the main property was seriously perfect.
The directions were great with nice touches of signage so we felt taken care of. Elena set aside bundles of wood and we had a long evening of fire warmth. Inside the hut is quite spacious and the propane fireplace emitted enough heat for the night with a few blankets and wearing long underclothes.
Very nice property and would stay again!
This was my first hipcamp stay and I'm so glad I chose Honeycomb Hut! The grounds were clean and everything looks just as the pictures. The firepit area was my favorite and I appreciated having an area by the sink to prep meals. The cabin was very cozy and was the perfect size for two people. The outhouse was also very clean. Elena and Catherine gave very clear instructions and we had no issues finding our way there nor had any issues during our stay. Thanks again!
