We loved finding Heartwood Mendocino for GLAMping for sure!!! What an amazing place deep in the redwoods and so close to incredible trails, beaches and town life! We also found Sweetwater Inn's community (rentable) hot tubs!!! Such a great time here in Heartwood Mendocino country. VERY well thought out to every last detail. Nothing was budget oriented yet not one thing was over the top. From the lighting, to the amenities, the fire pit, the candle light like mason jar firefly lanterns to the outdoor shower (they have indoor showers too) that is just spectacular to take a quick rinse after a surf sesh. The other couples were not only inviting but those that smile, "new friends" at the first meeting. We enjoyed the layout of the grounds as well. Each cabin has it's own picnic table and four cabins surround a large green community lawn. Nearby is the central outdoor kitchen and then just a few seconds away is the fire ring and another gathering area. These are tall redwoods that surround the entire area. Off a little to one side is the showers and outdoor sink and water dispenser. There is some real history to look for here but will let you find that out yourselves. I knew from living in North Beach San Francisco back in the day. The three doors is one bathroom, on bathroom and shower combo and one shower. On the other side of this is an indoor kitchenette and lobby. Check in was a breeze as we checked in at dusk. The electric blankets were a nice touch but the cabin warmed up q
It was our first time glamping and WOW! If you are thinking of booking here, BOOK IT! Great location, clean rooms and bathrooms, luxurious cabins and so much more! It has pretty much everything you could need, we were way too over-packed. Khamoor is excellent to communicate with if you have questions and was so accommodating. My friends and I are considering making this the annual trip we take together with all of our families.
The place is 10 minutes from main area of Mendocino. Property was very clean and beautiful. Communal kitchen had plates, cooking utensils, some pots and pans, refrigerator, and single stove. Owner was very friendly and had great recommendations.
Heartwood Mendocino is absolutely a gem. I loved the redwood shower, the heated blanket was a must in the cold weather. Definitely, a great mix of rugged camping with modern comfort amenities.
Stop thinking about it and just book your stay! We had such a great time unplugging at Heartwood, which is so gorgeous and serene. Khamoor and her husband Tim were the best hosts, and responded to our 'texts' for towel requests when we had reception while out grabbing food in the Village or Ft. Bragg.
Agree with the other posts about the outdoor shower, such a gem of a feature. Definitely do bring food with you in case your first night in Mendocino is super rainy (like ours was), and no one felt like driving back to the Village as we were just excited to be at Heartwood after being on the road for 5 hours.
This place was amazing! Very clean and well thought out layout. Definetly a 5star place! Our host was very friendly and responsive with all of inquiries. Looking forwaed to going back soon. Nothing beats the outdoor redwood shower at night looking up at the stars on a rainy evening with plenty of hit water.
Such a well kept and charming little get away. The heated beds are game changers. The hosts. Are so pleasant and welcoming.
We really enjoyed our stay at Heartwood Mendocino! The property is gorgeous and so well designed. The indoor communal rec room, showers, bathroom, and outdoor ares were all lovely. Cabin #5 sits directly next to the communal facilities. The heated beds are a game-changer, too! It dipped all the way down to around 30F the night we stayed yet we still found ourselves turning the heated beds down in power as they are so efficient and warm. Would recommend!
