We had a wonderful stay at the Haunt-A-Cado camping grounds. We stayed in camp site #3 and it was very private with beautiful views all around. The grounds have a very clean porta-potty, a comfy hammock and tree swing and a lot of open space! It was fun to hear the coyotes howling from afar at night, but if that isn’t something you’d enjoy, just bring some earplugs! Kimberlee was very accommodating and responsive when needed. Would recommend this spot to anyone!
Amazing location, pet camping
Very cool spot, amazing views, and fun camping environment. Beats the heck out of an overcrowded campground. Will be coming back. Whole crew (Including dogs) absolutely loved it.
A wilderness engorged adventure
A very Wilderness engorged Adventure! It was very hard to find initially but once we found it and got to our spot it was a very peaceful and secluded area where Wilderness and animal we're right up on you. Coyotes are very dominant but as long as you don't mess with them and all your food is put up at night you will be fine.
Fun for quick family trips.
This site is just on top of a small mesa of a country road. It is surrounded by a number of large properties and about 40% of the vista is ‘wild’. That being said - site 3 was a nice site - we had enough room for our large 9 person tent, and a smaller two person tent, but you could easily have put a few more up. There is a clean porta-potty, a warped table tennis table, and some corn-hole boards and bags, and a lovely hammock. We cooked using gas due to the fire pit ban. And had a nice enough time reading, and telling ghost stories with the kids.
Unfortunately a neighbor about 1/2 mile away across the valley had a loud party from 11pm - 1am. We survived and had a great night apart from that.
Kimberley was very responsive to texts, and apologized for the neighbors, saying that this was a fluke. I agree.
We didn’t find a whole lot to do off the Mesa - but it was a nice spot to chill, eat, drink, watch the sunset, and just have a fun night out with the family. Also it was very safe for dogs, ours were off leash the whole time.
