Great spot in the heart of coloma!
Doug is doing an amazing job with the property. It is walking distance to all of the park an the American River. Totally comfortable and convenient.
Stayed the weekend here on a last minute whim and had a great time!
We got in a little late (closer to 9pm) and had difficulty finding the location. Doug was great and helped us out! He literally came out to the side of the road with his lantern to help guide us in! Once we got in he was very kind and gave us the run down on the campsite.
There is a table and umbrella, campfire pit, restroom, and firewood included for your site. It should be noted that there is no running water (yet) so bring a little bit of extra water for you to use when staying. Overall the set up is two campsites on his private land. You are surrounded by neighbors on a few sides, but they are a good distance off and it is so quiet out that you wont even notice them there. Another positive is that Doug's is located near a little market. You can have that little peace of mind that if you forgot something the whole trip wont be ruined : )
I can tell that we definitely went at an off-season time of the year, but we had a great time! The hiking and local attractions are fun for the family. And a huge positive is that you can find a weekend worth of outdoors activities staying within 20 minutes of the campsite!
I have bookmarked this site and look forward to staying here again. With all of the work that Doug is putting into the campsites and the rest of the land you can tell this is going to be a really cool set up. Thank you, Doug!
