Pitch your tent or sleep in your vehicle. You will appreciate the open space we offer along with less crowded campsites. You will be provided a picnic table, water, a bundle of fuel, a solar-powered lantern, a fire extinguisher, and a fire ring to make a campfire and cook on (unless there is a fire ban due to drought conditions, in which case bring your own cooking equipment and fuel source). If you have a question or need anything, Kirk lives at the campground office which is a few hundred yards away-- for your convenience, but also for your privacy.

The terrain in the campsites is rocky dirt with pine needles and other forest floor vegetation. We have removed the poison oak from the campsites themselves, but you should know what it looks like and avoid it when exploring the surrounding brush and woods throughout northern California. The area has been the host to mining and timbering over the past couple of centuries. The Endor scenes in "Return of the Jedi" were filmed in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.
