This is a delightfully peaceful spot toward the back of the farm that is tucked behind a greenhouse, with a view on gorgeous dahlias and the farm's thriving vegetable & flower fields. We enjoyed the privacy offered by our location and also the ability to walk 2 minutes to the farmstand for fresh produce and drinking water. I thought I had booked for 4 nights and instead only booked for 1 night (booking late at night with bad wifi...oops!) and the hosts were so kind in offering us to stay longer. We really hope to come back soon! Thank you, Fortunate Farm!

Fabulous location. Very close to hikes and beaches. Beautiful produce plus often eggs and bread made for delicious meals cooked in communal space. I appreciated the hosts’ commitment to COVID safety and fire safety with clear and enforced rules about masks in communal barn and only cooking in communal kitchen. Coming from Santa cruz it was comforting to know the hosts are being careful. There were dahlias everywhere The most beautiful lettuce. Campsites were well kept up. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time on the farm! The hosts are super welcoming and the location is perfect for taking quick trips to town and the beach. The site is pretty private but still close to the toilets and communal barn/fire. The addition of a shade structure and picnic table at the site itself would make it even better, but our group had an awesome time. Our toddlers enjoyed exploring the barn and even were lucky enough to be invited to feed the retired sheep.

My honest neurtral "realist" review.... The place is nice and the culture behind it awesome, the shared barn is really rustic and cool, people are super duper dang nice, but I have to give you my true camper review. My biggest grip is NO Campfire and no camp stoves at your site. Don't get me wrong, people are super friendly and social, but be aware of the excess of campground-wide shared communal resources like communal camp fire ring, water, ONE Porta potty (wasn't so bad because they only have 7 sites), kitchen, as well as strict no camp stove policy (keyword) at your site. You're basically sleeping in a field on farmland and our group site ground surface was recently weedwacked with roots and bush bottoms still lumpy on sleeping ground. No wind protection on most sites from coastal wind (first time our cabin/high wall family tent kept collapsing after 13-15 years of use). Uneven ground also caused two holes in floor.

I booked without reading fine print because I was desparate in booking something last minute to feel lucky I found a group site still available. I was skeptical when I kept seeing an over abundance of overly positive reviews without much "cons". So I hope this review gives you a realistic idea what you're getting into. If you're a bed and breakfast kind of person, this campsite is for you. I like my privacy, ability to cook for my family in private, and keep them warm without feeling like I'm waiting in community line or keeping another family from enjoying the same thing. You won't get this here. The colder mornings on the coast sucks without a campfire. Did I mention you can't have campfires at your campsite? I'll give them a 3.5 star. Great people, but please fix this. Not sure if it's a lack of insurance or what...id be curious to know. Either way whatever the reasoning, camping is not as fun without a campfire. Nevertheless, we made the best of what we had.

I loved staying at the group campsite and that it was available. It’s a bit tucked away towards the back of the fields on the left hand side, which is nice for a bit of privacy. It was quiet, serene and beautiful to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and some seals and rain and wake up to sunshine. (We got lucky with weather) The porta potties are towards the entrance near the area of the barn/ farm stand which is not very far to walk to.
The barn area has a kitchen, potable water, a fridge. and cute friendly kitties :)! I had brought with me my own camping equipment but it was nice to know it was there if needed especially on the first night of rain. (Note: if camping with rain bring an extra tarp & something to rigged something up it was nice to have a bit of shelter by creating a lean to)

U’i, the host is super nice and was really helpful when my friend and I were a bit confused! I loved this space! I would camp here again and let my friends know what a nice place and to continue to support the people of the land in a good way.

My tent & Waking up to the beautiful trees nearby.

Fortunate Farm was great! The location was easy to find with their directions and close by to Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Our hosts were very welcoming and had everything we needed as campers ready. We didn’t use the communal barn much, but it was good to know that a kitchen, laundry, and produce were there if needed. The camp sites were well kept, sizable, and flat, and potable water faucets were nearby each site. They also had a friendly cat that came to visit us for a bit. We would definitely come back back again.
