Fjellgård Ranch is perched on a mountaintop overlooking the North Fork Consumes River Valley, with views looking East toward the Crystal Range, Pyramid Peak, and Desolation Wilderness. We have a small system of trails to wander on, with beautiful, towering oaks and pines. This is only an open site, and no water or electricity is provided. Very clean and stylish outhouse is available for use! Site 1 is reserved for car camping, unless all others are booked. For sites 2 and 3, we ask that you unload your car in the unloading area close to the campsites, and park in the parking lot about 50 feet away. We'd like you and other guests to enjoy the pristine landscape and sweeping views without them being obstructed by vehicles.

We have a very quiet and peaceful homestead, with just nature sounds to enjoy. There is no noise from highways. However from time to time you will hear some power tools or occasional gunshots from distant neighbors target practicing. While our neighbors' houses are distant, our property borders on several others. Please respect our neighbors' property & privacy and never cross fence lines.

Visits to our goats, NEW baby lambs, and chickens available upon request and appointment. All goats were bottle fed, lovingly raised, and like new friends! As our dog is a vigilant protector, we need to make sure proper introductions are made. She definitely wants to meet you! For this reason we do not allow other dogs on the property. All animals are kid friendly and like lots of pets and scratches.

Site #1 is the best car camping spot. Site #2 has the best view, but less seclusion than the others. Site #3 has a good view, but a little more seclusion. Site #5 is very secluded, but not much of a view of the valley below.

If you are more into glamping, please see our tent site #4. If you have a larger group, please see listing for Group Site #6, which has a wonderful view.

There are easy drives to the Cosumnes River, Apple Hill, Shenandoah/Amador Wineries, Sly Park Recreation Area/Lake Jenkinson, American River, Oldtown Placerville, and South Lake Tahoe. There is a lot of Goldrush history sites and we can recommend some, upon request. Coloma, the historical town and site where gold was first discovered, is about 35 minutes away. There is no river access through our property.

I ended up having to work and didn’t make it, but the hosts were very responsive and helpful. I was able to make a good decision for myself. I hope to visit soon!

My boyfriend and I loved our stay at Jonesy & Marie's ranch. The animal hike was the highlight and it was therapeutic getting to pet and hold the lambs and goats. The eggs are also delicious! We were the only people there that particular evening so we got to hang out with Jonesy, who was a fantastic host. They have a great property, and we'd love to come back.

It was a great experience! Very quite and clean place. We enjoyed the view from the tree house and we was lucky to see the starts at night.
Meeting little baby goats was a highlight of this experience.
Highly recommend this place.

We had a great time at camp site #6. The campsites are fairly close together but there were only 2 other parties there (out of the 10 or so spots) so we had plenty of space. The whole area was very clean, including the „potty-house“. There was also a little „tree-house platform“ that my kids instantly wanted to climb up. It’s fairly safe but needs supervision. The highlight of our stay was the animal tour though! We got to pet goats and feed the chickens. Even gloves were provided to not get poison ivy on your hands from the goat‘s fur! I wouldn’t even have thought of that! Nice. We also hiked the trails around the campsite to power out the kids, which worked great. Unfortunately I must have lost my ccard while pulling out the phone and could not find it again. But the next morning another camper or employee of the farm (?) came over and asked if someone lost a card! Amazing!

If I would be asked what could be improved, I would say provide running water. We knew there was no water going in, so it wasn’t an issue for us but it would have certainly made some things easier, such as extinguishing charcoals in our bbq before we left.

At any rate, we would come back in a heartbeat :) 👍🏼

This was my first time camping with my wife and it was wonderful. We enjoyed the camp site, the views, and the hospitality. They have a restroom near the campsite. We rented a grill which was is great condition. We plan to come back!
