A mighty storm brought an old oak crashing down, which gave this campsite a perfect barrier of privacy and a little bit more natural character. This waterfront campsite boasts easy access into the calm waters of Finnon Lake and a perfect vantage point for beautiful displays of color and reflection during the exhilarating sunset hour.

Hammock by the lake
The place was amazing! And I liked this site specifically because the fallen tree gave a little privacy. Only thing I would mention is that there were lots of bees in this site and I was stung. No issue to me, it happens, but if you’re allergic, maybe something to consider. The sites are huge and beautiful and the water is great! You might want water shoes if you swim. Also this site has two great trees for hanging a hammock by the water. This might be an all time favorite campground. It’s just so nice!
The campsite was perfect for us. Beautiful view, right on the lake for us to be able to walk a few steps and swim. We bought firewood and a few snacks at the diner at the front of the camp which was super convenient. The bathrooms were conveniently located and very clean. We were happy to have the picnic table and made use of the firepit and grill. Would love to come back!
Fun comfty camping in the forest.
Very quiet nice spot. Shaded in the morning. Very close to the lake. Lots of fish in the lake. The lake is very nice and comfortable to swim in. I would definitely camp here again. If you can try to look for the bald eagle. You can get a glimps when they come down to get a fish in the water.
Finnon Lake was awesome and pleasantly surprising. Despite being pretty full the loudest sounds we heard were from the bullfrogs, the lake was calm and peaceful, and we even saw two bald eagles. We definitely plan to come back.
Tough disc golf course. great camp
Really pretty spot lots of wildlife, one of my favorite spots to camp before the valley. I travel from tahoe to there to enjoy time and be away from crowds here
Can’t say enough good things about this campground!! Super clean bathrooms, well maintained grounds, beautiful lake, very helpful and friendly hosts. The frogs in the evening and geese in the morning just add to the wonderful camping experience. Don’t forget to check out the amazing bald eagles’ nest across the lake. The bats at sunset even keep the mosquitoes to a minimum! We booked 2 campsites next to each other for two adults, two kids and two dogs because we like to spread out and we had more than enough room.
