We loved the campground, the setting and wildlife—the eagles nest with an active family was a highlight.
However, Site A9 was a poor example. The site was too steep for an adequate outside sitting area. We tried to get help to move to another site, but HipCamp was unable to help us. We finally reached the camp host and she allowed the change—but it took over two hours of frustration. Providing more site description would be helpful.
PS Great place for fishing and kayaking. Also, nice hiking/biking trail around the lake. And, we also highly recommend Frank’s Diner, located in the park.
Perfect for a small RV, nestled in the trees on the shore of the lake. Plenty of space between camp sites to make it feel remote. Great little find
Cute area to camp. A9 has a bit of a slope but theres enough even ground for a couple tents to be placed. Toilets are flushable and very clean.

Nice site. Water and bathrooms are close, but not so close that they disturb your camping experience. The site has great access to the lake. There is also a graded portion that is mostly level and works well as a reasonably flat space to set up a tent or trailer
Easy access to water, shady, lots of room and beautiful.
Great location with beautiful wildlife. Clean bathroom. Nice camp set ups. Very happy to have 2 sites without direct neighbors. Sound does not carry between sites too bad when they are gaps - which was super nice. Good shade available but also clear sky to see the stars. Would go back!

We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful little lake, family-friendliness, and spacious campsites! Possibly my favorite campground of all time for kiddos. As we drove in we were regretting this trip completely (see below), but that COMPLETELY changed once we got there.
Kids had ample room to use their imaginations, climb a tree, ride their bikes, play on the little beach, swim or paddle around on their little youth kayaks. We had a spacious, perfectly shaded and pretty campsite to relax in. Even though it’s September, there was plenty of green around the lake which was nice to just sit and appreciate. Also the water wasn’t gross (yay!).
We had added a night before we even arrived and we ended up so glad we did. We stayed a total of 5 nights and it was the perfect trip for our family.
Eileen, the host, was wonderfully helpful, kindly welcoming, and readily available.
We peaked in bathrooms when we first arrived and they were nice and clean.
The only con I would say: We live in a town where we’re accustomed to the windy-roads galore and tourists hate it...well we felt like the windy-road hating tourists for this trip! Mosquito Road (without a trailer of course) wasn’t a bother though it was surely a little adventure, but Rock Creek Rd was *not* fun with a 28 footer in some spots (narrow, windy, and some significant heights). Just a little nerve wracking, not our favorite! The wonderful reward at the end definitely made up for it for us personally.
We had a wonderful time here! This spot was spacious and shady, and while it isn’t super flat there were a couple decent enough spots for our tents. We all loved being right on the water, the kids were basically swimming from sun up to sun down. The bathrooms were well kept and for the most part all the other campers were chill and kept to themselves.
