Nestled in a canopy of redwoods, less than 10 miles from the beach sits a private and cozy campground. Fern Ridge Flats combines the best of Santa Cruz county. Abundant trees and misty mornings await you at our property in Aptos. Equipped with electricity, water, and a picnic table for your convenience. There are trails on the land for you to explore, animals, and nature to dive into. *************** Smoking and the use of drugs are strictly prohibited. This is a safe and quiet neighborhood with many families including my own. Please do not request to book if you have the intention of partying or using illegal substances. If these rules are violated, local authorities will be called and you will be removed from the campsite. *************** The campsite is less than a 5 minute walk from the parking spot but is relatively steep. Although it is paved it is not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. *************** As an added precaution to protect the lush landscape, the firepit at the campsite utilizes clean burning propane. We chose a burner that closely replicates the size and heat of a wood to enhance our campers' experience.Nestled in a canopy of redwoods, and only 5 miles from the beach and the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park sits a private and cozy campground. Fern Ridge Flats combines the best of Santa Cruz county. Abundant trees and misty mornings await you at our property in Aptos. Equipped with electricity, water, and a picnic table for your convenience. There are trails on the land for you to explore, animals and nature to experience. While staying at the secluded Fern Ridge Flats, It’s easy to forget that only a 10 minute drive gets you to downtown Aptos with trendy new restaurants and coffee shops to enjoy. Get away from it all and reconnect with nature at Fern Ridge Flats.

My favorite Hipcamp thus far. Matt was extremely responsive and provided everything I needed. The sit is also truly beautiful. Was pleasantly surprised to find a small field of flowers a small hike away from the site

Camping with kids :D
This property was absolutely beautiful! We camped with our 3 small children for 2 nights on Matt's property. It was so quiet and peaceful. The forest was dense with wildflowers everywhere and we were able to stargaze at night. Evenings and mornings were chilly, but the propane fire pit made it super simple for us to warm up with the kids and have breakfast by the fire. The outdoor toilet made things much easier with our kids and the paths around the campground were so fun to explore as a family. There's also a great space for a hammock so we could cuddle up and read together. Matt was super communicative and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Plus he let our kids check out the chicken coop and bring back some fresh eggs. :) This was a fantastic little gem of a place! Happy camping

Matt’s camp was beautiful and peaceful - even through the lightning and thunder storm. As a group of 4 people we brought two tents and they fit perfectly with more than enough space. Matt was an awesome host too.

Friendly hosts, beautiful spot tucked away in the redwoods. Loved having the lights for the trail and the campsite. Would camp here again if we were passing through!

Beautiful Campsite!!!
The views were amazing and the sounds of all the birds in the trees were even better! Super secluded and private area but also not too long of a drive from the beach and town making it the perfect location for a little getaway!

Our stay at Fern Ridge Flats was great! Beautiful spot, very nice hosts, everything went splendidly! Super quaint and isolated spot, like our own little forest hideaway!
