Five minutes from the beach, Elkhorn Ranch is home to goats, sheep, wild chickens followed by their baby chicks, and a couple of cows, dogs, and sheep. In addition to the animals there is a greenhouse and an acre of pumpkins, corn, and beans. A small fruit orchard borders the chicken coop. Anybody who enjoys small farm life and activity will find this place enchanting. Norris and Roberta are incredible hosts and inclusive to any guests that want to participate in farm life. Close to restaurants and the cute harbor town of Moss Landing, 30 minutes from Carmel and Santa Cruz, Elkhorn Ranch can be a place to relax or a gateway to explore Big Sur and all the amazing hidden gems of the Central California Coast.Pros - Lovely community. Great for kids. Lively when wanted, chill when wanted. Magical Oak forest. Open field for playing. Close to everything. Note - There is a large power station at Moss Landing, about five miles away. The high tension wires border the property. Some people think they are ugly. I think they are kind of cool. If you look down the line of sight, they lead to the power station and you can see all the lined radiating from the power station to serve power to the people of Monterey County.Check in and check out are flexible. However we ask that you are checked in by 7 pm as we are a working farm. Due to camping in the oak grove there are no camp fires at the campsites. However there is a fire pit with wood available in the common area to enjoy or cook on.

Camp with Goats!
Norris and Roberta were very welcoming, communicative, and accommodating, the critters are adorable, and the setting is beautiful! Our 10yo especially had a wonderful time. Be aware that the (working) dogs bark at night and the roosters start up in the morning; just bring your earplugs and enjoy.

We really enjoyed the relaxed and hospitable atmosphere on the farm. Lovely setting, wonderful animals and Norris and Roberta were kind and welcoming. Thank you for the great weekend!

Camp with Goats!
We had a very nice stay! Norris and Roberta were very accommodating and friendly. Their working farm of animals were great for our kids. I recommend camping with the goats.

Camp with Goats!
Roberta and Norris are great hosts! My kids love the farm and the animals, and love playing with their grandson too! We also made friends with other camper family there and we definitely plan to come back again!

Beautiful property and awesome hosts. Roberta was the best host we’ve had in the last week of travel by a long shot. If you have some kids, this is the place.

Lovely stay!!
This was such an idyllic campsite! We arrived at sunset and there were baby goats, chickens, all the farm animals, and other very kind campers having dinner. Norris & Roberta were very welcoming and showed us around. The campsite was under a beautiful tree canopy. We had such a wonderful time, would return in a heartbeat! If you are sensitive to noise, do recommend ear plugs as some of the farm animals can be noisy, but we loved hearing the owls and frogs and crickets as well. Thank you!
