In addition to the aquaponic and keyhole gardens, the Dome Asylum features several cactus gardens, a meditation trail, and a natural pool/tub. The plants and fish in the pool are just one of the many pleasant discoveries you will encounter during your stay.

The Dome Asylum hippie homestead is wonderful for curious travelers. Our yurt features a queen size bed and battery powered lighting. There is a full bath a short walk away in our outdoor bath house. Spend some time meditating by the pool or snorkel with the fish.

Heads up! The door to the yurt is low and measures approximately 46". Once inside, you'll have plenty of headroom and 116 sq feet of space.

The Dome is about an hour from San Diego beaches and even closer to popular hiking at Mt. Woodson and Potato Chip Rock.

Please note that there is a 2 night minimum on weekends. (Friday & Saturday)

Staying here was so amazing! We were only there for a night, but it was so cozy and homey feeling. There were many pleasant surprises there including the beautiful plant gardens and pumpkin carriage. I would definitely come back!

I arrived late so I didn’t get to meet Dawn but she was responsive and helpful. The property is quiet and lovely. The yurt is cute and it was cool to hang out in the pool with the fishes. I lit out mid morning to go hiking nearby, so it was great placement to get onto some trails, would recommend.

We had a very relaxing stay in the hexayurt. The yurt itself was very comfortable and private. We had a lovely time lazing by the pool, snorkeling with the fishes, and ventured out a bit for some wine tasting. Hanging in the pumpkin carriage was a blast and I definitely recommend Karate Robot. We had no idea what it was, but it was worth it! The vibe here is great. We'd come back for sure

While I was looking forward to "glamping" this felt more like camping. The pool was very interesting and unusual. My son really loved it. The location was perfect for a non-camper because we went into town and got breakfast. Definitely go to Ramona's Cafe and get a biscuit!! I was a bit put off by the greeting because we got lost due to the lack of directions and Dawn seemed annoyed. She even got annoyed because I didn't understand her parking directions. I am very in tuned to body language. The yurt and the patio was less than expected. While I know it is considered outdoor living, it just wasnt kept up as I expected. Personally, I felt they could have swept up a bit and knocked some cobwebs off of everything. I also would have washed the pillow covers on the patio furniture. The carpet in the Yurt needs to be replaced as it has probably been flooded several times. There is an odor that probably isn't healthy. I would have loved to sit in the pumpkin lounge but it looked quite neglected. The grill was filthy and I had to clean an area just to use the propane tank and set my things down. Maybe bring a table of your own to avoid that. Dawns partner/friend kept up doing some sawing or welding for most of our stay and it was quite bothersome. I knew roosters crowed in the morning but didn't realize it was for 3 hours straight from 4:30 am to 7:30am. Get noise cancelling headphones or something. Earplugs wont work. (not the fault of the hosts-just ignorance on my part) The worst part of the trip for me was the roaches that took over the pool area at night. I would have loved to make a fire or watch the robot dance at night but I just wanted to leave the area due to the roaches. Overall it just wasn't what I expected.

We really loved staying at the Hexayurt and were enjoying the patio and natural swimming pool. It surprised us to have no cell or Wifi reception in the yurt, but I believe that is just better for your zzzs.
Also need to mention the amazing sky full of stars at night and the lovely chickens, dogs and the cat walking around. Close distance (car) to the centre of Ramona, that has a few good options to eat and a very nice natural food store.
