John was such a good host. My daughter loved riding around hearing the history of the land and he was very sweet and responsive to her. Beautiful property, lots of life freely roaming, and the camping spot had an amazing view.

We stayed the night here before taking the Yart into Yosemite and it worked out perfectly. 10/10 would recommend as a stop before Yosemite. My only regret was I wish we would've booked an additional night for before and after our visit to the National Park. That's how awesome it was.

Oh yeah and Jack was a highlight of our stay. He's a donkey, but moreso a friend. I'll let you see for yourself.

The views are beautiful, the cows are cute (they do moo in the morning but didn't bother me), and the tent was convenient, with a camping pad and a light/lantern. We heard coyotes for a little bit, which was cool. No one was in the fancier glamping tent nearby, so we were able to use the outhouse that I guess is normally supposed to be for the people renting that glamping tent. Otherwise I guess we were supposed to use the portapottie on the other side of the camping area, which seemed kinda far, and there was a whole bunch of people camped there (several families with lots of kids). Next time I'll just go for the glamping tent.

John was very responsive to texting and led us to the camping area when we weren't sure where to go.

By the way, John said no one was renting the fancier glamping tent until the next week, but the HipCamp website said it was not available. It seems like there was some kind of glitch.

Beautiful view from our campsiteCows! My partner and I went for a walk around the property and saw this huge tree.

Instead of the cleared camping area, we parked next to the barn on the concrete loop and had less of a view but it was AWESOME- great spot, super kind hosts and the long-term tenants that are around are Uber-friendly and helpful. Made us feel at home. Wish we had stayed for more time. Really enjoyed this spot in the middle of the outdoors with few people for miles around.

Diamond gulch campsite was a great place to stay for us. This was our first Hipcamp though we are pretty experienced campers. We wanted a place close to Yosemite and this fit the bill, half hour from the entrance. We got the “tent provided “ campsite and the tent provided was well ventilated and comfortable. John, the host, provided an air mattress as well, though we chose to use our own because we like ours. The tenting area is enclosed behind a gate and a barbed wire fence to keep the cattle on the other side. The cattle have lots of acreage to roam so they are not usually in sight, but they do move around so you will see them and hear them once in awhile. We liked that. John encouraged us to explore the land and we did, a little. Thanks John! It was very pretty and peaceful. We heard owls and coyotes at night. We stayed here six nights so we talked to John a couple of times and he was very knowledgeable about the history of the land and area. Informative and interesting. After staying for six nights it got a little dusty from the dry ground being kicked up by cattle and cars. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend so there were many campers staying, but on either side of the weekend it was less busy. There was only one portable toilet for the weekend so it got heavy use, but under normal use that would be fine. Other than the overused toilet for the holiday weekend, it did feel like most of the campers had enough space to call their own. All in all, we loved Diamond Gulch
