Paul is a kind and helpful host!

Great time at this place, even though it was a short stay. Beautiful starry skies with hardly any light pollution.
Nice flat spots for setting up camp and welcoming surrounding scenery.

Beautiful property! The surrounding views and trails on the land is a sight to see without having to enter Joshua Tree national park. Paul went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The site is very secluded and serene. Look forward to returning!

There are two sites, about 100 yards apart but there is a ridge separating them so only some sound travels over. To get to the two sites you need to travel on about 1 mile of sandy/dirt road being mindful of what turns to take. I think a front wheel drive car could make it but there might be a spot or two where ground clearance is an issue if you pick a bad line.

At the sites are a table, chairs, firepit (ours had a grill grate integrated), and softer sand to lay down tents. There is not a lot of shade available (expected due to the location) so an awning or tarp to hang up could be helpful but be careful because the wind can pick up.

Pual is very engaging, he met us to take us into the site and show us around. He also worked to make the water tank (hidden in a bush about 15 yards away) more accessible. He has a RV about 150 yards away and is willing to try to provide whatever may be helpful, for example we tested out a compost toilet he picked up, otherwise wait for town/the park or go in the bush.

The nearby town of Yucca Valley has all you would need, you can see city lights from camp but it doesn't add much light pollution, as the stars are numerous by midnight.

The Joshua Tree visitor center and Park Blvd entrance is nearby and the Blackrock Campsite is even closer about 10 min away.

Paul is continuously thinking of ways of improving his campsites, I would recommend, especially as the official campsites are usually busy and there is less seclusion.

Desert views is an understatement! Literally 30 second walk up the hill from our campsite and we had views of the mountains and desert that were as beautiful and expansive as any we saw in all of Joshua Tree National Park! We watched the sunset from the top of that hill every night, and they were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Paul was a great host, and we had a nice private campsite on the back of his property. If you are looking for a private camping experience with spectacular views, you have come to the right place!

My friends and I had a great time camping on Paul's land. He was super nice and helpful and even checked in on us to make sure that we had gotten settled in okay.

The campground was very private and secluded which was awesome, and Pioneertown and Joshua Tree National Park were an easy drive away. Not to mention the views at sunset were unreal!

A beautiful secluded location. 4WD is not required but I would say it is recommended. Paul is very friendly and helpful. His place is a work in progress with more sites to come but ours was perfect and the other site I saw was equally epic.
