Very private. Lots of cow poop. Uneven ground. Very hot this time of year. Bathroom and shower were unusable. Gorgeous space otherwise.

Hey Clayton, hows things brother? I tried call, email and text, but couldnt get a hold of you. Hopefully, you will see this

I know you are trying your best at this hipcamp thing. But honestly, I think you need to try a bit harder

When I arrived, I spent 2h up and down a road that ended on a trailer. I was scared. I’ve seen a lot of movies where either a zombie is waitting for you inside the trailer, or someone gets out with a shotgun. I waited a little longer but no one came anyway

Advice: If the GPS addr is wrong, why not add the correct one, or exact coordinates, or just hang some 🎈🎈by the mailbox?

I stopped by your neighbors on 25 and Lonnak. We talked, mostly about you. I was very surprised by the accuracy of their instructions. btw, you should ask if they can help with your ad?. At exactly 5mi N, after the red barn then left, there was your campsite!

Unfort my friend, the main gate was locked with a combination. Guess who forgot to text the combination to the guest❓

It was late and options were getting slimmer. I read stories of ppl ending up in hotels, others, just camping on the cow pasture. But that's not me Clayton. 1, I’m cheap and 2, I'm not that adventurous. So I went back home like I shouldve

I hope things get better for you and your biz. Maybe one day I can actually stay at your campsite? ,I will leave this 👎 for now. Pls dont get mad if hipca calls you 🆗. I need to complain to them too 🤗

Like others have said, beautiful spot but with small changes could be much better. I did get the gate code in advance, so it seems like the owner has gotten better about that. Putting up signs (arrows to sites/bathroom, labeling the sites) would really help and would take minimal effort. I'm still not sure if we camped in the intended spot, but we were the only ones there. The toilet and sink were clean and in good working order, but the shower was very dirty. I'm not at all bougie and I don't expect camping to be like a hotel... but oof. That shower was off-putting.

When I drove up to the Ranch the gate was locked and I was not able to get inside. No combination had been given by the host, and the host did not return phone calls. Ended up getting a hotel for the night. Was extremely inconvenient. I would not recommend camping here. I would recommend a BLM camp site (Sweetwater/Laguna Mountain) that was pretty close to here. Had limited space, and pit toilets but was a really nice and free campsite.

Great location. Dry wood for starting fire near the fire pit, very helpful for when you first arrive. Instructions were great. I arrived late, it was dark. Would recommend arriving when the sun is still out.

This farmland has beautiful views and limitless camping spots- you’re given permission to camp anywhere. I think it would be ideal for people who need/want the bare minimum. We only saw two fire pits but there may be more. Some FYI’s, there are three gates you need to pass thru and open/close. I was only sent instructions about two gates, and since we arrived so late at night we couldn’t see well, and we accidentally spent our first night in the cow pasture, not the camping area. The bathroom and shower are in an old, rundown farmhouse, they’re a little sketchy, and they’re located thru 2 of the gates and a 10 min walk from the camping area. There is a hose for water at the back of the house. We didn’t have cell reception there. Overall, it worked for us but just a little different than excepted.

Great location just south of thePinnacles. Nice meadow, easy to locate. The water tank visible in Google streetview is there as ofApril 2022.

The solitude offered by this campsite was lovely. It’s tucked away off a quite road where most of the noise you hear is from the birds and nearby cows. There was not a sign indicating it was Deer Valley Ranch, so you need to go by house numbers. Use the geographic coordinates because they are more accurate. Ask Clayton for the gate code before you leave because that was not in the original instructions that were emailed. While a toilet and shower are available, they are not convenient. It’s about a 7-10 minute walk to a house that is falling apart that does have a working toilet (there was also a shower, but I never had plans to use it). The campsite itself was very windy in the late afternoon. I would not recommend a tall tent unless you know it won’t blow away. The ground is littered with holes from ground squirrels, so watch you step. It also made it difficult to find a flat spot to put the tent. The sites are not labeled, so if you don’t remember the map of the campsite, it’s a guessing game as to which site is yours. Luckily, we were the only ones there. A grate over the fire for cooking and a table would have made our trip better, but overall it was a fine time and provided many opportunities for stories to tell our friends when we arrived home. This site might be for you if you want a remote spot with a few distant amenities and you like cow bones.

Pros: Really beautiful and secluded location. Bathroom, shower, and a sink to wash dishes, in a house that is being reconstructed and really needs it. Allows pets. Thirty minutes from East Pinnacles entrance and an hour from West entrance. Property owner was very nice and helpful on the phone.

Cons: No signs marking the property Deer Valley or Hipcamp, so it was hard to not feel like we were just pulling up on some random abandoned property. Google will not reliably lead you to the address, so pay attention to the address numbers. No reception, so if your lost head towards King City until you get reception. Sites have fire rings, but nothing else is even slightly developed. Bathroom is two gates and a ten minute walk away. No gate code was sent to us, so that was frustrating until we were able to get ahold of the host.

With a bit of work, this place will be great.
