Beautiful vineyard getaway
Figueroa Mountain closed for labor day last-minute, so we pivoted to Camp Dirt for labor day. We had the best time! The land is really beautiful, situated at one end of a huge vineyard. The campsite was clean, flat and shady. There was a fire ban while we were camping, but our host David was nice enough to provide us with a propane fireplace to keep us warm. aww.
They even threw in a free tasting at their (beautiful!!!) winery tasting room. The wine's great, i brought home several bottles. Overall, highly recommend!
Remote; hard to get to; no response
I had a major logistic issue with meeting my wife here on her journey down and asked the host if there was any way I could move the reservation to a later date - when it was convenient for him (I certainly didnt expect a refund at such short notice). There were no other guests at the site so didnt seem particularly popular for a Saturday night. The host didn't bother responding to me by text or via the app.
Camp Dirt was absolutely perfect. Amenities were all clean, fire rings, picnic tables, facilities were all beautifully maintained, and they views of the farm and surrounding hills were spectacular. Can't wait to return!
Great location- not too far from Solvang yet you feel like you’re in the countryside when there. David had the firewood all set up, a water hose and the cleanest portable toilets I’ve ever seen. We really enjoyed our stay.
Perfect place to escape!
We loved Camp Dirt! It’s just far enough off the beaten path. Campsites are large with shade, picnic table, fire pit, benches, toilet and potable water. We walked in the river bed and through the vineyards. There is a peaceful energy here and would absolutely stay here again!
