Song dog ranch = new favorite place
Great experience, Jim set us up with everything we needed for a weekend getaway. Loved the location of the Vintage trailer up on the private bluffs, made for a peaceful time for the wife, 2- dogs and I.
The tepid tub was a savior from fairly warm days.
Looking to go back soon as the water tower spot looks awesome too.
Vintage glamp trailer
The site was amazing! We’ve been going to Songdog for 3 years now and each time is better than the last. We’ve stayed at different sites every time and not one has disappointed. Jim is an amazing host and those sunsets are breathtaking. Everything was great and the vintage glamp trailer was the perfect place for for two of us. I would recommend bringing an air mattress or mattress topper for some added cushion on the bed. It’ll make sleeping much more comfortable and enjoyable. I would 100% say there again and am looking forward to trying out all the sites Songdog has to offer.
The view from the Vintage Glamp Trailer was AMAZING! It was very private, even though there were other campers in the closest spot they were so far away that we couldn't see them and could only hear an occasional car door closing. The water tub was an absolute luxury on the 95 degree day that we arrived! The bed was surprisingly comfortable. There was running cold water in the sink, a 3 burner stove, paper plates, a small pot, small frying pan, various eating and cooking utensils, firewood, lighter fluid, lighter stick, matches, wine bottle opener, two very comfortable chairs, and an outhouse that was clean and in good shape. We saw a coyote at dawn the next morning on the outskirts of camp. There were lots of rabbits that the dog wanted to chase. There is a steep hundred foot cliff a little ways away from the camp that I was worried about the dog chasing a bunny over. We kept her on leash or lead for that reason. Jim was a very gracious host and we look forward to returning!
We're finally back to this place since 2019 trip. We really wanted to come back here since Dongdog is one of the rare places that provides a complete privacy and quietness.
The trailer was clean and cute with covered picnic area and a nice fire pit, which is our favorite. During hot seasons, most campsites have a fire ban in effect but we're allowed to make fire here to prepare delicious steaks. After the beautiful sunset, we gazed at the flames with a cup of coffee (or a can of beer) under the stars!
If you want a complete privacy and a peace away from your busy life, Songdog is a perfect place for you.
My dog was happy again to be completely off-leash and free to roam.
Last time when we were camping on the other side, we shared a rest room with others but, 2 years after, we had our own bath house! It was brand new and very clean. You don't even have to close the door while you're using it since there's no one near your campsite.
The trailer was spacious enough to sleep all 3 of us (me and my husband and our large dog) with panoramic views from the windows surrounding the bed. My dog enjoyed looking out the sunrise every morning. The little sink and gas stoves are a plus, of course.
If you miss some trees and forest, Los Padres is within one hour. You can do nothing in this quiet place or you can spend time with hiking and other activities in Los Padres.
The host Jim looked even healthier than 2 years ago and still very kind and friendly.
We had a great weekend here thanks to Jim and his hospitality. Hope to come back here again!
Look up... you will see the univers
The trailer was clean and you had considerable space from other campers. The kitchen tub they provided had all the utensil and eveything needed for several days, pots, pans, napkins, spices, plastic cutlery, paper plates. We only stayed one night but they definitely supplied enough stuff for a few days. The firewood was just enough for us and burns really slow (hardwood), great for over the grate cooking. I only have a few recommendations and this is me bring some sheets to use as shades for the window in the trailer. It beautiful to see the night stars but the sun will wake you up early. Also bring lights the site does not have any lights and it does get nice with the moonlight but lanterns would be recommended. The bathroom is clean and basic and its close walking distance, its specifically for your site. I would definitely come back to see the stars.
Vintage Glamp Trailer was just what our family needed! We got the camping experience with a little bit of “glamp” luxury with the sweet vintage trailer and soaking tub in a beautiful area of California! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Jim is a gem of a host! Very personable and made sure everything was okay. We are definitely recommending to family and friends. Thank you, Jim!
Most magical desert hideaway!
This is an experience and stay that should not be be missed. The ranch is set up so well. The host Jim has an amazing eye for detail. He is also just the sweetest and a pleasure to chat with. The sites are spaced so well that you feel like you are the only people there. The trailer was especially luxe and our children had such fun soaking after a long hike in the trough that Jim filled up for us. The property is so close to the carrizo national monument turn off although you can also just spend the day walking around the property.
