The Glamp tank site was a beautiful spot, tank was a fun unique stay, toasty warm on a rainy night and fantastic views. Enjoyed meeting Jim and our cattle dog got to say hi to his two friendly ranch dogs. Would definitely come back.
Fun nye stay!
What a unique experience! Really enjoyed our stay and so thankful that fires are allowed since it was really cold on NYE. The gas heater kept the tank nice and warm as well. Lot's of privacy from the other sites and we enjoyed hiking around the surrounding hills with our pup. Comforters and pillows were provided along with a pot, pan, cooking utensils, single use utensils, cups and plates, cutting board, sponge, dish towel, salt and pepper, lighter and lighter fluid. Bring your own stove and sleeping bags!
All of the basics covered plus more! If you want to go camping but don’t have the gear this is the spot for you! Jim supplies the camp basics (cooking tools, firewood, chairs, water and lodging). The temps dipped into the low 30’s during our stay and the converted water tank kept us warm. There is a small propane heater inside! Other people in our group chose to sleep in tents so the whole group was happy.
The spot is very private with beautiful views of the mesa. Miles of walkable area surrounds.
Bonus-There is potable water at your site and a private pit toilet.
Fantastic tent site!
What an experience! One of the most unique sites within a few hours of LA... We spent one night and I wish we had booked a few more.
The site itself is as described in the HipCamp posting - very thoughtfully arranged, with cooking essentials, shaded picnic table, awesome tepid bath (it was 100F when we reached - and spending a few hours in the water was a godsend, especially with kids), fire ring (Jim, had dropped of some wood for us), and the tank itself is great: two large 'bunk' beds, plenty of windows... don't expect to get much of a reprieve from the heat during the day, but it cools down nicely at night.
Site is easy to locate, up a dirt road (no need for high-clearance vehicle).
Jim stopped by to say hi - and we had his dog come say hi the morning after. Super nice guy - and very thoughtful.
