Pull up a tree stump by the fire and join us under the milky way at Crazy Diamond, a high desert camp nestled in the Cuyama Valley.

Marvel at spectacular sunrises and sunsets over the surrounding snow-capped mountains from the comfort of your own canvas tent or from the hills surrounding the property.

We are a 30 acre property, dotted with more than 20 permanent tents which can accommodate 2, 3, or 4 guests each.

We welcome groups who would like to book out a few of our tents together, we can host groups of up to 40 people comfortably. Just drop us a line.

Our custom tents are set on raised decks off the ground, fully furnished with real mattresses, side tables and carpeting. We provide flannel sheets and extremely warm sleeping bags for the winter, and duvets and cotton sheets for the summer. If you are sensitive to the cold we would recommend bringing another blanket or sleeping bag to be extra cozy.

Bring a towel and enjoy our bespoke open-air hot showers and flushing toilets which are available to all guests and are cleaned and sanitized twice daily.

As the sun goes down, cook county-style over one of our communal camp fires, or use our propane stoves if you prefer: make sure to ask us ahead of time for these! Please bring your own food, beverages, plates, cups, eating and cooking utensils to remain safe for the time being.

Our communal indoor tipi is temporarily closed unless specifically booked by a group, which can be arranged, let us know!

The high desert temperature range is vast. The days can be very warm and the winter nights can get very chilly so check the weather before your stay and plan accordingly. We recommend sleeping in beanies, long thermals and wool socks during peak winter time.

We pride ourselves being off-grid, and as such have very limited electricity. We run on solar power alone and unfortunately we can not charge electric cars. You are welcome to charge phones and small devices in our common areas.

A flashlight or headlamp is a good idea for night wandering in the camp.

Cell phone reception is limited and we do not have wifi. Think of it as the perfect opportunity to unplug and truly enjoy the stars.

***Site Description: Each site booking is for one tent. If you are coming with a group, send us a message so we can place you all together. We have 20+ tents available for use! Occasionally we will reshuffle the site bookings to best accommodate our guests.

WOW. What a magical, special place. I can't say enough amazing things about this property...and the hosts as well. Every aspect of the campground has been carefully thought out - from the layout, to the amenities, areas for community gatherings while offering all the privacy you may want...I am really in awe of the level of detail put into the tents, the bathrooms, showers, places and nooks to eat, meditate, hike.

They really found a great balance btwn glamping and being nestled in nature. I can’t wait until we get back there – which we are already booking! 

Crazy Diamond left us feeling so grateful and complete. The sacred experiences my partner and I shared in nature and the connections we made with other guests and staff will be forever in our hearts. This place allowed us to express love and joy through hikes, playing instruments together, yoga in the heated bell tents, and so much more. The lodging, hot showers, and fully functional bathrooms was icing on the cake! We can’t wait to come back! ☀️🙏🏼💕 Thank you...

With love and gratitude,
Carmen & Noah

We came across Crazy Diamond when trying to find a winter-friendly camping option near LA, and it's safe to say we'll be coming back. As avid campers, we had yet to try glamping and this place absolutely delivered. Not only is the property beautiful, but the staff goes out of their way with their hospitality to make sure you have everything you need. We opted for a more secluded tent but found ourselves in the camp's common areas often, including their one-of-kind teepee and many fire pits to keep warm and mingle. Plenty of cooking options too so no limits to what you can whip up. The sleeping accommodation exceeded our expectation (opt for the heater in winter). It's cozy and the setup is truly charming. We had our two dogs with us and still had plenty of room inside. If you're looking for an off-the-grid intimate weekend, I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Impeccable tents with beautiful public spaces. Outdoor saloon vibe was sublime and the surroundings are stunning. The hosts lit fires for us every night and morning - sitting by the fire under the stars was a dream! Will definitely be back soon.

I can't recommend this site enough - Sasha and rest of the Staff were incredibly warming upon arrival, making sure we were all set up for the evening. The location of the tent made for perfect sunset views over the valley. We joined the other campers in the evening around the communal fire pit after a short hike nearby, and were just in awe of how clear the night sky was. We will absolutely be back!

My husband and I were looking for a place not too far from LA to unwind, enjoy nature, and rest. This place absolutely delivered. The amenities were clean and complete. Hosts were gracious and made sure to greet you and provide an enjoyable stay. Totally opt for the buddy heater for winter/early spring as temp drops significantly at night. We couldn’t have asked for a better overnight trip. Great sunset views, excellent firepits, if you need music it’s there in the communal area, if you want quiet, it’s a short walk away. A+++ all around!
