Not great for sleeping in your van
The hosts were kind and gracious and we had a nice walk to the river, however we sleep in our Sprinter van and there was really no opportunity for a pretty and private space. The house and outbuildings are very close to the only flat spot to park. Also, the road in and out is very rough.
Private access to pristine river
This site was on a very special spot on the river. There is a pristine private swimming hole and you probably won’t see anyone else except the hosts. The host family is wonderful too! The road is cutty going in but our old minivan made it just fine with our three boys and two dogs.
Unfortunately this site was not at all what the pictures lead us to believe it was. We really don’t expect a lot when it comes to camping so we by no means were expecting any sort of glamping. The sites were very small, in closer proximity to the house than the river and weren’t well kept. We ended up just turning back around and staying somewhere else. If the pictures and descriptions were more accurate we wouldn’t have booked it. I will say the host was very nice.
What a great site! Even though my husband and I stayed after some big storms, the campsite was still very easily accessible, clean (including great poison oak control), enjoyable, and easy to find. Since we were the only people at the campsite it was very private and we never ran into anybody. The river is absolutely beautiful and the 5-10 minute hike to the swimming holes is just as stunning. I'm already recommending this site and planning another trip back, totally worth the drive out. Thank you for the experience!
The directions were a little confusing but the hosts at the house we're very kinda and helpful and showed us where to park and where to set up the tent! For sure will rent the cabin bext time tho!
