If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
What a cool spot! This Hipcamp feels very remote and special. There are many different hiking options within a short drive (just be wary of poison oak on the trails!). Laura was such a friendly host, and was there to greet us when we arrived and even helped us back into our spot next to the creek. The last ~25 mins drive into the forest does include some tight one-lane roads, so just take it nice and slow. Thanks for sharing this great place with us, Laura!
Quite little get away!
Laura was an incredible host and her property was perfect, a peaceful relaxing stay in nature, what more could you ask for?! Laura also met us when we arrived, helped us back in next to the creek and gave us some fresh fruit from her garden! I would absolutely stay here again!
Absolutely loved staying at this gem of a campsite! Laura is extremely communicative and quickly replied to all the questions we had prior to our trip. Once we arrived, she was a gracious host, driving out to meet us and letting us know her neighbors were on the way to help after a tree has fallen down and blocked the road to her place.
The site itself is idyllic- very sheltered and private while surrounded by nature. Between the string lights and the fire pit, the ambiance by the creek at night was perfect. Laura left us a fruit basket on the picnic table, right next to a little hammock set up among the trees. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful, quiet, well-equipped
Beautiful spot with awesome trailer hookup. Level concrete pad with cover and hookups, large enough for most any trailer or RV, easy to back into. The area is really quiet, with nice stream. As other reviews noted, the road in is windy, narrow, or steep a few places, but very little traffic, and well worth it once you arrive.
Host welcomed us and even offered fresh fruit from her yard. It's probably hot in summer, but in fall it's green, cool, beautiful. There were very few vehicles going by, probably the waterfalls are busier during hot weather. With campfire ring, hammock, picnic table, chairs, and surrounding woods and stream, it's a fantastic vacation.
Magical canyon campsite
Wow! Comfortable Creekside Campsite is a little slice of Heaven. My husband and I spent two nights here and it was like a long meditation. Laura is a gracious, helpful host! She helped us select our ideal spot, gave us a brief tour of the campsite, and had even prepared a basket of pomegranates, lemons, carrots, and hot peppers to share with us from her gardens. The first day after unhitching, we drove through the dozen or so creek crossings to hike the Big Falls Trail, and all I can say is, it was stunningly beautiful and worth the effort (we needed to cross the creek ON FOOT, too)! We slept in the first morning and enjoyed the creek and wildlife. This site is not for the faint of heart, as the drive is steep and winding on some pretty sketchy lengths of Upper Lopez Canyon Road, much of it on the precipice of the Santa Lucia Mountains. But once you arrive, you'll be in a magical place!
