Great place to rest.
This place isn't cute and cozy but in a good way, more of a ranch full of vintage machinery and storage containers. The two camps are a bit too close, but since I was the only person there it was great to be able to walk around and take photos. Having a fire at night was very nice when temperatures dropped to 50. The night before we camped at a state campsite with no fire, shivering all night.
The two campsites are a little too close to each other and to the main house, so I wouldn't say there's much sense of privacy of feeling secluded. But the main patio, full of seating, is pretty nice if you come with a large group.
The host Claudio and the older gentleman living in his trailer were very welcoming and friendly. They made sure I had everything for the night, including food and water. I did end up having to buy my own fire wood, but the host hooked me up with a couple of logs.
Bathroom was clean. Having a water sink on the side was very convenient. This is a great place for those on an adventure, who just need a night to sleep near a fire for warmth.
Would stay again
Pretty nice camp site, we were greeted on arrival and given a tour! Everyone was super respectful, and the host made sure we had everything we needed for a comfy night.
Very warm welcome from our host. The firepit was already set for us with small branches, such nice attention. Nice setting table area close to their cabin. We enjoy the great view of the plateau and did a beautiful bike ride in the park.
Do not recommend!
Claudio and her husband were such nice people. They treated us with respect and tried to provide everything we needed. But the ranch itself was not appropriate enough to accept guests for either tent camping or RV. We didn’t feel comfortable and we didn’t have our privacy there because they were working next to us. Also there was no bathroom on site and we didn’t have any other options.
The weather was quite windy and not ideal for tenting.
Great weekend getaway!
Very quaint and rustic ranch. The family and I really enjoyed our stay here. Claudio is a great host and was very accommodating! There is a wolf reserve down the road and you can hear the wolves howling in the evening. Close proximity to the Miller Jeep trail where you can go play during the day.
Quiet, starry nights
This place is wonderful! Out in the middle of no where....but not. Quiet and beautiful. Maybe a sign to identify it as Sleepy Meadow Ranch. The rain had made it hard to get the gate Open, so it was a bit confusing. We travel back down the state next month and it is definitely on our list of places To stay again. My first hipcamp experience and it was a great! They even were
Accommodating with electric since it was so cold at night especially Traveling with a toddler
