Crickets Cabin was absolutely amazing. My partner, myself and our dog, Heath, had a fantastic trip. Tom is a lovely and gracious host, eager to share his beautiful property and thoughtful amenities. The site is private and the views are stunning. We were comfortable, sleeping in a heated cozy cabin while it snowed and waking up to snow capped mountains backed by the high desert colors. We can't wait to come back when Tom has his ceramics workshop up and running! We are definitely recommending this place to all of our friends. Perfect getaway for 2 (plus a pup).
Cricket cabin is the place if you are seeking desert solitude! You will be the last people up the ridge, facing an undisturbed view of the mountain lines. We were surprised to see the cabin equipped with all the amenities we needed and more. Tom is an amazing host and artist - the scriptures on the property are beautiful and the walking trail so meditative. Hoping to come back again soon.
Serene birthday celebration
If you are wanting a serene , quiet getaway , this artist cabin is the place to go ! It is a stunning sight to see , sunrise , sunset . I came here to celebrate my 30th birthday with my gf and my dog . We brought a cooler full of food / ice/ beverages . We stayed for 3 nights . I brought my own propane fueled camping grill ( there is one on the property ) . There is a porta - potty and it’s kept super clean . We used the outdoor shower which is open and you get a view of the mountain ( has hot water ).
The cabin has a small propane fireplace and it kept the cabin warm enough , we had warm layers on . Tom is a great host and made us feel welcomed and safe . He guided us when we drove in at night ( which I don’t recommend ) it’s easier to see the path and way in daylight . I drive a Prius c , it’s super low to the ground and it had no problem making it . There are also a few games like dominos , cards ... etc ..
there are so many fun sculptures around the property and a meditative path on the property . There are plenty of hikes around the area , we went to one that was dog friendly montezuma valley trail 11 miles but relatively easy ( no major inclines ) highly recommend it ! I had such an incredible time and can’t wait to come again !
Cozy cabin with stunning views
It was an absolute delight to stay at Crickets Cabin. Tom is a gracious and generous host, he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The views from the cabin are sublime, both of the nearby mountains and of the stars. Bring a heavy jacket so you can make it to the outhouse without freezing in the regular cold nightly winds. Be sure to explore the fascinating art and impressive display of craftsmanship across the property, as well as the meandering trails wandering below!
Love this place! highly recommend
We absolutely loved staying here. Highly recommended for two people or just one person that just wants to get away from the city and relax with a nice view. Tom is a great host and is there to help when you need it. Check it out you won’t regret it!
In case you're wondering if the pictures are too good to be true, I promise they aren't! This is such a stunning, lovely little retreat, and Tom was an excellent host. The trail networks are lovely to stroll. It's the perfect combination of nature and front country amenities!
The most peaceful experience. If you need to get away and just be, visit Tom's cabin. Tom is a gracious host, and the cabin is very comfortable and inviting. comfortable bed, stunning views. I loved it so much, I'm already booking my next stay.
