Beautiful trees & great breakfast!
Lovely space! Great place to relax or stay while you explore nearby towns. We loved waking up under the trees and being greeted by the host’s sweet dog. Bathroom is clean and has amenities like soap and towels, but you’re unable to use it in the middle of the night as Alice locks the house around 9pm (which she explains when you get there, and wasn’t much of a problem for us!).
The homemade breakfast really put it over the top for us. Fresh, simple, and delicious. Alice is a kind host and makes a mean loaf of sourdough! We’re glad we ended up spending a couple nights here!
This place is fantastic. It is quiet and beautiful. Alice is very welcoming and I fell in love with Sally, her dog. The house is so charming. Breakfast was delicious and different every day, bread baked by her and the rest was cooked with fresh organic ingredients. The restroom was clean and she provided soap, shampoo and towels, the only problem is that it closes at 10 since it is inside the house, but that is understandable and Alice will explain this when you first arrive at the house. I didn’t use it, but we had internet and phone signal in the property. I would definitely come back if in the area, great place to get away.
Peaceful, quiet, clean, trees
Casa de la Pradera is beautiful quiet location in the heart of wine tasting in Amador County in Fiddletown. A delicious breakfast was included. She made her own sour dough bread that was delicious. Ask to buy one from her when you leave! She has her own garden and chickens and a friendly dog. Town is in walking distance. Check out the place that sells yummy English toffee too. No need to pack meals as lots of places for food. Alice is a great host!
Perfect stop over. great host!
Our stay with Alice was everything I could have hoped for. Beautiful scenery, great host, great conversation, lovely dog. We slept peacefully and had a nutrituos fruit-filled breakfast with farm fresh eggs. I would absolutely stay here again.
A unique & peaceful experience you won’t soon forget. Alice’s idyllic farm and delicious breakfast made with eggs from her chickens and bread and jam prepared from scratch when we arrived, amazing coffee with a pinch of fresh-ground cardamom, a sweet dog named Sally, and cozy camping under the oaks all made an indelible impression- I can’t wait to go back, nor can my kids!
Lovely spot nestled in hilly wooded farmland. Expect to wake up to the sound of birds in the morning, including distant roosters!
Alice is a considerate host and cooks a tasty breakfast. Shared bathroom is clean and well stocked. Friendly dog Sally.
Might not be ideal for campers with mobility issues. Platform for your tent is flat, but perched on a fairly steep incline with leaves underfoot. Bathroom is upstairs.
Verizon has excellent cell service here. Not far from Shenandoah Valley wineries.
One of a kind
This was a truly magical experience at Alice’s farm. The fact that she provided a beautiful home cooked breakfast on top of everything was the cherry on the cake. Fantastic property, fantastic host, and fantastic visit all around.
