This camp site located directly across the bridge from the lodge and restrooms up the hill halfway to the bluff overlooking the creek. This site requires you to walk up the hill and transport your equipment to get to this site. This is a great site for those wanting to be close to the teepees below or just below #7 group site on the plateau. The site is ready for tent camping and has a propane fire pit that is available for use (you can purchase propane cylinders on site). Each site has a picnic table.

Reservation considerations. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July land Labor Day. Beginning in the 2020 season we do not do checkins on Sunday. However, if you are on site and want to extend over Sunday night all you have to do is let us know in advance or during your stay. If one weekend is booked looked to another weekend or you might consider a mid-week - Monday - Thursday visit.

This is a family private owned small campground (17 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, platforms with canvas tents and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. Our hallmark is our family teepee! We are all about tent camping – we do not allow travel trailers, campers or van camping.

We've been told that we have a “family camp” vibe.We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day.Tahoe is less than an hour away.We are dog friendly and love our pets at certain sites but absolutely enforce leash laws to protect your pet as well as the other campers.Due to the nature of our mixed audience camp we also enforce our quiet period from 10 pm to 7 AM.

We have a lodge that is stocked with game tables and every game imaginable along with a ping pong table. The lodge has a Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups). We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. The showers are nice and cleaned daily.

For outdoor activities we have basketball, volley ball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing sets, seesaw and tractor play.We also have many outdoor games for meadow play including a tug-a-war rope, gunny sacks, baseballs, gloves and a soccer net.We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting so bring the goodies to make s’mores. The common area has BBQs – both propane and charcoal as well as a cooking griddle (we also added a campfire pit in the campfire bowl area for charcoal dutch oven cooking). We are in the wilderness so we have a cool room to store all food at night – yes bears live in the wilderness but don't come into camp.

The Creek starts out in the spring looking like a rushing river featuring lots of swimming holes and fishing. However, as the summer evolves it is more of a small creek even though we do dam a portion of it (goes up memorial day weekend and down after labor day)so bring those floating devices (starts out 6 feet and ends up closer to 3 feet). We do not allow individual wood campfires but have propane fire pits at our glamping sites and group camp sites for ambience – not cooking.

We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historic towns with great eating establishments. There’s always something happened in downtown Placerville. To make things nicer for our guests we have the ability to rent a limited number of tents, cots, individual propane fire pits, BBQs, etc. - anything to make it easier for our campers. Come give our location a try – we think you’ll enjoy yourselves.

Checkin is between 4 and 8.  If you are coming from the Bay allow 4 hours - you must leave by 3:00 or 4:00 at the latest to arrive during checkin.  If you get delayed, for the consideration of the other campers you may consider waiting and arriving Saturday morning.   Going forward there will be no checkins after 9:00.

Greg and his assistant Aaron were beyond amazing! They made sure we had everything we needed. Being able to rent the battery pack for my c-pap was awesome and their camp store had lots items you may have forgotten. It was great being able to cook on their griddle and gas bbqs.

The campsites are all walk in, they provide wagons for getting your stuff up to your site. Some of the sites are up steep parts of the hill so be ready for that.

The kids had a blast and we will definitely come back!

Azita - thank you so much. Hopefully next time we can get two camping sites together. The secret is coming during the week during the summers and avoiding the holiday weekends!

We had a fantastic weekend at Camp Nauvoo. We originally reserved site #3A, but when another family canceled last minute, Greg bumped us up and let us stay at site #12, which was larger, right on the creek, fully shaded at all times of day, and farther away from the other sites. It's right near the communal fire pit and stage, which was only used by other campers for 2 two hours on Saturday evening (7-9pm) when they made smores. The rest of the time, my kids used it as their private stage and stadium.

It's a super family-friendly place. We had our three kids (ages 6, 5, and 1) with us, and they had a great time. Greg showed us a hike/walk that would be appropriate for our young ones with short legs and even shorter attention spans and it was perfect. He checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and answered all our questions.

We were there in late June, and even during the drought and in 100-degree heat, there was enough water to swim and cool off in. The kids loved going in the creek, swinging on the swings and exploring in nature.

This was our second time tent camping as a family, and for more beginner campers like us, all the amenities were perfect and well worth the price!

Great campground for families with children. Lots for them to do onsite. We made last minute plans to go camping and were thrilled that this tent site was available.
