This canvas platform tent is a short walking distance up the hill but it is a hill and the farthest away from the lodge and most love it since it is very private. This requires transporting your equipment in the carts provided. This site has a 10x12 tent and features openings on both ends with mosquito netting . The tent features 2 individual cots and bunk bed cots. There is space for a small additional tent. Each camp spot has its own picnic table and a propane fire pit. Propane canisters are available on site for rent. Many like this site since it is very private and set off by itself.
Reservation considerations. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July land Labor Day. Beginning in the 2021 season we do not do checkins on Sunday. However, if you are on site and want to extend over Sunday night all you have to do is let us know in advance or during your stay. If one weekend is booked looked to another weekend or you might consider a mid-week - Monday - Thursday visit.
This is a family private owned small campground (17 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, platforms with canvas tents and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. Our hallmark is our family teepee! We are all about tent camping – we do not allow travel trailers, campers or van camping.
We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe.We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day.Tahoe is less than an hour away.We are dog friendly and love our pets but absolutely enforce leash laws to protect your pet as well as the other campers.Due to the nature of our mixed audience camp we also enforce our quiet period from 10 pm to 7 AM.
We have a lodge that is stocked with game tables and every game imaginable along with a ping pong table. The lodge has a Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups). We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. The showers are nice and cleaned daily.
For outdoor activities we have basketball, volley ball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing sets, seesaw and tractor play.We also have many outdoor games for meadow play including a tug-a-war rope, gunny sacks, baseballs, gloves and a soccer net.We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The common area has BBQs – both propane and charcoal as well as a cooking griddle (we also added a campfire pit in the campfire bowl area for charcoal dutch oven cooking). We are in the wilderness so we have a cool room to store all food at night – yes bears live in the wilderness but avoid Camp.
The Creek starts out in the spring looking like a rushing river featuring lots of swimming holes and fishing. However, as the summer evolves it is more of a small creek even though we do dam a portion of it (goes up memorial day weekend and down after labor day) for those that want to use floating devices (starts out 6 feet and ends up closer to 3 feet). We do not allow individual campfires but have propane fire pits at our sites for ambience – not cooking. It requires the purpose of propane on siate.
We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historic towns with great eating establishments. There’s always something happened in downtown Placerville. To make things nicer for our guests we have the ability to rent a limited number of tents, cots, individual propane fire pits, BBQs, etc. - anything to make it easier for our campers.Come give our location a try – we think you’ll enjoy yourselves.
Checkin is between 4 and 8. If you are coming from the Bay allow 4 hours - you must leave by 3:00 or 4:00 at the latest to arrive during checkin. If you get delayed, for the consideration of the other campers you may consider waiting and arriving Saturday morning. Going forward there will be no checkins after 9:00.

Genuinely good place
Most amazing experience ever! Mason, camp host, greeted us as soon as we arrived and was extremely helpful. Greg and Laurie were both just the nicest people and responded quickly to any messages. While I was down at the creek, Greg stopped by the site and left me a cupcake for my birthday. The creek was gorgeous and the amenities were top-notch. I would highly recommend staying with them if you have the opportunity.
Greg and Laurie loves kids and they've made our family feel super welcome to their camp grounds. They have plenty of space for social distancing and takes fire safety very seriously. Creek is lovely and plent room for everyone to enjoy the water. There are also bunch of blackberry bushes for you to be able to pick and enoy mouth fulls. There is also a short mile hiking trail which is pretty steap but fun. Our group had kids ranging from 2.5 to 8 years old, and it was chellenging for the as we had to carry the younger ones some parts, but its do-able. Laurie and Greg are very helpful and there is a small onsight store for most essentials and, of course, icecream. If you want larger water activities such as kayaking and etc, you would have to find somewhere else, but if you want a relaxing time in the woods and want to be able to cool off in the creek, this is a great place. We will be coming back!
Magical and restful retreat
Safari tent 11 was clean, cozy, and in a secluded location on the campgrounds. We loved the quiet tranquility, lazy floating on the river, and the option for the gas firepit use in the evenings. It was a wonderful stay and we can't wait to go back. One small recommendation is to bring a sealed bin for dry goods. When we do car camping we usually store our dry goods in the trunk of the car, but it would not be convenient to do so with this site. A big wooden box is on-site for storage of items, but is not rodent-proof.
What a special place this is! The kids were never bored, there is just so much to do here. Even with the lodge closed for covid we had so much fun. Group campfire on Saturday evening for all the kiddos to roast marshmallows and the adults to unwind with a beverage ;) Greg even surprised my husband with a piece of birthday cake and sang him happy birthday! Definitely a nice touch. All of the staff are super friendly and obviously love being there as much as their guests. We can't wait to come back and try the teepees!
Great location. great hosts.
Great location. Great hosts - went above and beyond with lending a hand and organizing engaging events for the guests.
Unfortunately this was a season opening weekend apparently and the hosts had snags with hot water, which made it fairly uncomfortable for us. No hot water in sinks. Family had to unexpectedly suffer through cold water shower one morning and opted to not shower the next because of the same issue.
Family friendly fun
The property is family friendly and great for kids. The host provided a lot of extras that you don’t find at public campgrounds- clean showers, air compressor for inflatables, wash station with soap and sponge, carts for unloading, several propane grills, a lot of common areas!
Make sure you read all the rules! There are a lot of procedures to follow and the host is firm on enforcing the rules!
