Cazadero cabin with tent site on idyllic 18 acre, private creekside property. It’s hard to believe that just 2 hours from the Bay Area you’ll find a secluded redwood haven that’s as off the grid as Thoreau’s Walden (but stocked with more comforts, of course). Lose yourself willingly in this 60s era cabin, complete with an outdoor one-person clawfoot tub where you can soak amongst the 400 year old redwood forest. Central heating, a fire pit for s’mores and the like, a grill (medium), and a wood burning fireplace, are a few reasons that this cozy forest retreat is the hot ticket for your next family vacation or group getaway.
The main house (sleeping 4) is a one bedroom with two twin trundles, and a sleeper couch (queen size) that will have you waking up with the birds, forest landscapes, and the bacon and Bloody Marys you’ll whip up in the fully equipped kitchen. Spin a few records on the turntable that also syncs with bluetooth.
The spacious outdoor deck accommodates relaxing afternoon hammock naps, or sleeping under the stars.
The property also includes 1 official campsite for medium/large sized tent, along with ample room for kids to camp on the deck (if they don’t want to venture too far). Message the host to discuss tent camping for more details.
This property is extremely kid-friendly, and includes 6 inner tubes for hours and hours of adult-supervised creek fun. Russian River, located in Monte Rio, is 20 minutes by car if you feel like venturing out.
The driveway accommodates 5-7 cars comfortably for day guests (talk to host), and for those nights when the beers run out or someone forgot to buy the butter, Cazadero General Store is only a 5 minute drive down the road.
Nervous about being off the grid? Though we have a landline and a WIFI option, expect to unplug, unwind, and settle under the stars and canopies of the Great Northern California Wild. We cannot wait to have you!
*COVID: We want both our guests and housekeeping to feel comfortable. The Request To Book feature is currently activated. This guarantees full control to allow additional time for the cabin to be empty in between guests. Don't let that be a deterrent - messages will be answered quickly!
*Host is also willing to trade properties with other Hipcamp hosts.

This is a lovely, cozy cabin in the woods with a full bath, kitchen, deck and fireplace. I stayed here with my 8 year old son and husband. My son says it's now his favorite vacation. The creek runs right behind the property and when the water level is higher and the weather is warmer, it would be a perfect place for getting in the water and hanging out on the provided deck chairs. The property also has hidden treasures like a trampoline and treehouse. It was perfect for 3 people. It has enough beds for 5 people, but that might feel too crowded. We plan to come back someday.
We had such a nice stay at Camp Caz. Carrie was super helpful and easy to communicate with. The cabin and property were just as described, and adventuring around was awesome. We went tide pooling at Salt Point and saw and octopus and the loop hike at Jenner Highlands was another trip highlight.
Camp caz was awesome
Huge thumbs up for this adorable cabin in the lush Redwoods of Cazadero. The cabin itself is well equipped and cozy. Great picture window and a great table that we built a jigsaw puzzle on. The kitchen, though the stove is old, was quite adequate for our needs and the place was stocked with all that we needed including DECENT knives and a sharpener!! Wonderful path down to the creek. Although our kids are grown, I can imagine this is the perfect spot for two or three rambunctious 10 or 11 year olds.
We spent a birthday weekend here and had a wonderful time, taking full advantage of all the outdoor space built-in and around the cabin, including an adventure walk up the dry creek! (There's a particularly special Redwood grove right in front of the cabin that certainly possesses some magic!)
The whole time we were there, we discussed how this spot either sparked a Vision thanks to its awesome location or had been produced by one as demonstrated by the intentional decor. It's truly a lovely space to spend time in nature, unwind, and rejuvenate. We will be back!
Camp Caz was absolutely perfect. We celebrated my fathers bday with the grand babies and pups. Beautiful cabin & perfect location. Fully stocked with everything you would need. Carrie was very thorough and responsive. We would absolutely love to camp again!
We had a great weekend at Camp Caz. The cabin was comfortable and the kitchen was very well furnished. Cassie was great to work with and gave lots of info. The driveway down is narrow and bumpy and windy and we were glad we arrived in daylight.. Even though the creek wasn’t running we walked down and had a great time exploring the creek bed. Our teenage kids loved the hammocks. We had a fun time checking out Monte Rio and Villa Grande. I’d love to return sometime.
What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature in a totally secluded area! As others have mentioned, the actual place is much nicer than in the photos. You can feel how much Carrie loves this place. She’s such a lovely person - I had to make a last-minute reservation and she accommodated all my needs and responded quickly to my various questions.
My son and I both felt so sad when we had to leave, as if we were leaving our own home.
Had a wonderful time and I’m already planning to go back there.
