Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Classic camping and fishing with excellent views of the mountains and lake. Lies within the Toiyabe National Forest area and near two distinct hot springs. The lake is great for fishing in the spring through fall. In proximity to great river and stream fishing as well. 30 minutes or 31 miles to Tioga pass into Yosemite National Park. Plenty of mountain biking and 4x4 trails access. Bodie Ghost Town is very close as well.

Some things to be aware of are that this is high desert climate, with little to moderate tree coverage. Imagine it is much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. The elevation is 6,400 feet (1,950 meters). There are many harmless flying insects flying around here. They are called Chironomidae, and the fish love to eat them. Mosquito presence is very minimal. The tent cabins are nearby to other campsites as part of a larger campground. They are within eyesite and earshot so if you are looking for total privacy then this listing may not be for you. Feel free to ask me any questions or concerns. The walk to the bathrooms is about 75 yards.

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay here. The tent cabin was comfortable and well-insulated with a beautiful view of the water and mountains. We had fun making a fire, grilling, and going to the nearby hot springs. Note that if you’re going to Yosemite from here, check that the Tioga Pass entrance is open. Thank you for having us!

I stayed in cabin 1 for two nights. The genuine kindness of the staff was apparent and they want to ensure their patrons feel comfortable. The mattress was great and the tent had plenty of space to store all my things. We were supplied a portable heater to keep the room extra cozy at night (temps. dropped into the high 30s) and a bug zapper in the case you may be skittish to small flies and moths. I usually get eaten alive by mosquitoes but did not here! Not a single bite! The stars were so bright and beautiful at night, also the sunsets and the sunrises over the ridges were awesome. Wind did pick up a bit at dusk when I as trying to cook dinner, but it died down once it got dark when I stayed here. I would stay here again and recommend this place.

tried to capture Venus on an iphone 😅morning walk on the reservoir, lovely birds enjoying the watertent cabin 1

We had to sleep in our car overnight! The temperature was near freezing. The host ensured us that we would be able to check in with a late arrival, however no one was available to check us in and the campsite was padlocked preventing entry. We called nearly a dozen times. When I asked about refunding the might we had to sleep in the car, I was told to contact Hipcamp.

We ended up having some trouble (hipcamps fault) and our stay was double booked. Our hosts were quick to make our stay EVEN BETTER. They were incredibly kind and hospitable on arrival and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.
The town of Bridgeport was a pleasant surprise with shops, market, local rodeo, and incredible views of the Sierras. We drove out to Bodie State Park (you don’t want to miss it) and had a great time exploring the mining ghost town. And had a great chat with locals and Ranger Dustin who shared lots of historical knowledge on the area.
Incredible views of preserved agricultural land and long standing legacy of cattle.
Definitely staying again.

I can not wait to return to this campsite. We found this place by sheer luck. I’ve always wanted to go GLAMPING as my husband calls it and this place lives up to the hype. The bed was so comfortable and staff went over all amenities thoroughly. They’ve thought of everything here. My only complaint is that I didn’t have more time here!!!!

One of the most incredible mountains and lake view right in front of your cabins.
Cabin crews are very friendly and kind.
That was one of my favorite stay.
I would come back soon!

Beautiful scenery, concept and nicely decorated tent bedding and amenities. Bathrooms were small and clean. I know the bugs by lake situation can’t be helped but could def damper your stay. I got a net to wear over my head to sleep in the second night. Because it really can’t be helped they will enter with you it is just nature. Nothing against the host. The canvas, nets and bug zapper on the porch are all designed to help and I respect the attempt. Sunsets were beautiful.
