Greetings! We will not host individual camping in 2022. Please message us if you are interested in group camping (40+ campers) and we will see if we can accommodate you. Thanks for your support!

Maple Tree Camps are located near a beautiful large maple tree a short walk to the Olympic Pool one of our deeper pools on Ten Mile Creek. For those of you familiar with Kate Wolf Festival, this is where we usually put The Revival Tent and the Cannabis Zone.

Black Oak Ranch has hosted music festivals on our beautiful 150 acre property for almost 30 years, including The Hog Farm Pignic, Earthdance, The Kate Wolf Music Festival, and the inaugural Hog Farm Hideaway scheduled for next year. Conveniently located just off of Highway 101 in Mendocino County, Black Oak Ranch is home to majestic old oak trees, leafy bay groves, and Ten Mile Creek which is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. Black Oak Ranch has an abundance of wildlife including deer, raptors, and our newest residents, a couple of families of beavers! Please note: our property is conveniently located just off of Highway 101 and you will hear noise from the highway.

Campsites are on flat terrain. Campsites have shade most or all of the day. The creek is a short walk away from each campsite. Please plan on making your site your own by bringing your own setups, gas-powered camp stoves, etc. We will provide a 6' table and some folding chairs to get you started. We suggest bringing a festive table cover. No wood or charcoal fires or BBQs due to high fire danger. Gas fire bowls are allowed as long as they are not placed on grass (we can help you place them). All bathrooms are port-o-lets. We do not offer showers at this time. Ten Mile creek is great for wading and some parts of the creek are swimmable depending on the time of year. Note: Depending on how much rain we get in the winter Ten Mile Creek can be quite dry late in the summer. Feel free to inquire about the status of the creek. Kids 12 and under are free.

Our second time here and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. I chose the Maple Tree site this time at Black Oak Ranch because of its proximity to the swimming hole, and we were so glad! The creek is beautiful, the swimming hole is big and deep, and nature shows her beautiful sparkling self in all her glory. The stars, the river rocks in blues and greens, a little fox, frogs, minnows, wild thyme—California camping ❤️

Black Oak Ranch is a special place with so much history! The property is beautiful and there is so much nature to see. Bird watchers will love it. We even had a surprise visit from a fox! This campsite provided just the right amount of shade and sun. You're also close to so many day trips to the Redwoods and the coast. Highly recommend!

This camping space was amazing. It way exceeded our expectations. We booked last minute and we’re so lucky to get a space that wasn’t around too many others and had access to portable water and a bathroom. Lots of land to walk around on and if you bring kids or dogs-they can run wild.

The hosts checked us on and are fantastic people, took the time to chat a bit and tell us the history of the land.

Would definitely stay here again!!!!

We would definitely stay at Black Oak Ranch again. There is so much space, we felt very safe and had lots of privacy. Depending on what activities you have planned it is a bit of a drive from the coast so just plan accordingly. Overall it was a great weekend out of the city!

What a beautiful camping spot! We loved relaxing under the big trees that shade half of the site and cooled off in the swimming hole nearby. A perfect way to spend a summer day.

Gorgeous, large camp site. Very private, near some terrific natural features. Great shade, ample water, and very clean amenities. It's geographically close to 101, so there is some ambient, distant highway noise, but otherwise super beautiful area.

Very beautiful and private campsite with trees for shade and a big open field for sun. Creek super close to camp for swimming, with lots of wildlife to keep company. Nice big picnic bench, potable water, cleanest portapotty. All added up to a very peaceful weekend. Also love that they openly support Black Lives Matter.

We had a terrific time. It was relaxing fun… Just what the doctor ordered. We saw river otters, a fox, owls, bald eagle and an array of smaller birds of every size and color. We saw this by only leaving our campsite by 50 feet. We had the shade of some big trees to hang some Hammocks and enjoy our meals under. This is an outstanding place to hang out and relax safely.
