Cozy cabin stay
The cabin we stayed great! It was cozy and had all the essentials supplied in it. Since the nights were cold, the wood fire stove warmed up the cabin perfectly and the linen cabinet was fully stocked with extra fleece blankets if you needed them. We arrived at night and the directions to the site were pretty simple and straightforward to follow. We enjoyed the fire pit outside and stargazing was spectacular—you’re pretty isolated, only some homes/airstreams but still far distance from you so you feel like your out in your own space. The host, Ariel, was great and communicates well. He even stopped by to drop off some firewood for us in the early evening. In the morning, it was lovely waking up to sunshine and open land all around. We enjoyed our breakfast at a little patio table on the deck around the cabin, as our pup played around the space. I 10/10 recommend a stay here if you want a cozy cabin stay with simple living style.

Black Lotus Ranch
The entire bed was covered in sand and it seemed as if it was not cleaned before we got there. I would suggest bringing a sleeping bag if staying here to go over the bed. I would honestly just buy a tent and stay in actual Joshua tree with the amount of money they charge per night.

Beautiful, secluded site to spend a night! Had a few mishaps but host was very communicative and accommodated us :)

Black Lotus Ranch
I would describe our stay at Black Lotus Ranch as a peaceful glamping experience in the desert. Upon our arrival, my husband and I walked the property and checked out all the available facilities and amenities (canvas bell tent, outdoor kitchen/dining area, rocket stove, bathroom facility, etc.) During our sojourn at Black Lotus Ranch, we lodged in the lotus bell tent. The tent was well- appointed, and provided for a comfortable, relaxing stay. On the exterior, a spacious adjoined deck with chairs, a table, and solar lighting created an ideal space for leisurely lounging and star-gazing. Inside, a comfortable bed provided a pleasant night’s rest. Black Lotus Ranch backs up to rugged mountains. We were told that there are mines accessible by OHV roads, but, on this occasion, we were simply in the mood to kick back and relax. The sunset was lovely! If you’re looking for a place to spend time near Joshua Tree and other natural attractions, Black Lotus Ranch is a nice choice. Thank you for sharing your Hipcamp with us. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

The host was very accommodating. The original tent cover was ruined in a storm, so the tent was smaller than we thought, but the host provided a cabin on the same property for us to stay in. The property was amazing at night.

Fun Night Under the Stars
We had a great time at Black Lotus! The space was very clean and had all the essentials for a few nights in the desert. We stayed just one night and spent the following day exploring Joshua Tree, only a short drive away! Great terrain and beautiful view of countless stars at night. Would love to come back soon! Thank you Ariel for being great and having amazing communication.
