This place is magical. Dennis the host puts a lot of work into this place and all the details really shine through. Nature thrives here, everything from hummingbirds, jack rabbits, crickets, frogs, and fish. There is a beautiful pond in the backdrop, a little creek river waterfall that will run through where you are camping. There are lots of special communal areas for you and other campers (& airbnb'ers at the top of the hill). This is a great place for two to come back and relax or getaway.

The best part about this is the neighboring area called Apple Hill. There are plenty of wineries, a brewery, and lots of apple baked goods + cider around the area.

A lovely lake is 15 minutes away, its a mini Lake Tahoe (really gorgeous!) and if you're willing to drive 45 minutes, Lake Tahoe is available a well.

Dennis is a very warm and sociable host. You will often see him out and about working on his property. His vision of the property really shows. In the communal area there are swing sets, tiki torches, decorative hanging lights, and plenty of gas fire pits to stay warm and enjoy the night. A charcoal bbq for those who like to cook. This place is dog friendly, and Dennis has his own two very friendly dogs that will be out and about the site.

Highly recommend for a romantic getaway!

We will be back for a special occasion in the future :)

Dennis was awesome, and the grounds were private, and blissful. Great little BBQ and we loved the tree swing.

My boyfriend and I came for a little covid-getaway out of the crowded city, and into some nature. Denny's property blew all our expectations! The grounds are used for a wedding venue and Hipcampers are able to reserve on off-season weekends and weekdays. This little gem has great privacy since there are only two sites (each max of 2 people) so it felt like we had the space to relax, enjoy the property, and not worry about running into people. Denny and his family have done an exceptional job building up the venue to host events and weddings, it's so cool he's opened it up for campers as well. You can tell how much care he's put into each detail of the property and maintains it well. It's clean, the bathrooms feel lavish, and there is even a small kitchen area to wash dishes in with warm water (yay!). There is no cell service on the property so we only had signal when we got to the main road (walkable from the campsite), but I consider it a positive. No access to news even if you wanted. This is a great site for those who are new to camping. Call this a total GLAMPSITE :)

I will say, if you are coming from a highly populated area, be mindful and careful about the places you visit. Camino is a very small town and has very few positive cases of COVID-19, let's do our part to help keep it that way so their businesses/economies are less affected as much as possible.

View from the walk from the campsite to the bathroom, you walk across the lawn that lots of people get married at! <3 The lavish bathroom you can use. Be respectful and keep it clean! One of the oldest ponds in Camino. Cute little sitting areas and a fire pit. Stars are beautiful from here!Far left, blue tent was the other campsite. Lots of privacy

My boyfriend and I had an incredibly peaceful stay at Bit of Heaven!
When we arrived we were welcomed and shown a few different areas that we could choose from to set our tent up. Dennis, his wife and daughter gave us a tour of the grounds including the pond with lounge chairs, the gas fire pits and the "shed" that was part of their wedding venue. The shed was complete with 2 restrooms (without showers) and a full commercial size sink for dishes. I love washing dishes in warm water!
We spent time relaxing on the beautifully manicured lawn surrounded by gorgeous landscaping, napping in the lounge chairs, hanging out in our hammock and having dinner and cocktails around our own fire pit. It was perfect!

the view from our tent looking out at a sea of pines! Hammock time! cocktails by our own fire pit complete with lights! inside the "shed"

This place 100% exceeded our expectations. Denny and Alita and their adorable daughter and cute doggies were the most wonderful hosts ever. Their property is meticulously maintained and is literally a slice of heaven. There’s an amazing winery with wine tasting and charcuterie plates right next-door even walking distance and they also have an Airbnb if camping is not your thing. If you’re looking for a place to get married look no further this is also an amazing wedding venue. They haveSeriously created a magical paradise on this 27 acre property. We will be back again and again it’s our new favorite spot.

We were so grateful to Denny for allowing us to camp here when are other camping reservations were cancelled. We had never “glamped” before and may now be converts! The site is beautiful, clean and so easy! Denny and his family are kind hosts that work hard to ensure a relaxing experience. Nearby Jenkinson Lake is also well worth a visit. Enjoy!

Awesome! Loved the flat swing, the hosts, the two sweet dogs, the pond and creek. Bats at dusk near the pond were so cool swooping around. I got to test out camp mode in the Tesla.
