Site 2 - Left of Picnic table.
Great Price and Close to Road (+/-)
Honest review - We knew this site was new and it is winter in the Sierra's .... What is experienced with a friendly camp coordinator at the U-haul and being the only vistored the night we stayed we could use any site we wanted so we put up our tent inside an A-frame that would normally be using for firewood. We did this because we arrived late and the snow was deep and soft enought it was going to be a lot of work to put up our tent. So for friendliness and easy of dealing with the conditions which were snow and wind - 10/10.
Now for the negative. It is very close to HWY 80 from an road noise point of view. So there was constant background road noise and some loud Truck Jake-Braking all night.
The price was right. The site was good enough for one night. But ear plugs or other sound damping might have made it better for the two of us.

Site 2 - Left of Picnic table.
Great place to park for the night off of I80. It was very conveniently located and was one of the only places to camp in the winter before reaching Lake Tahoe from the West.

Basic campsite. Great location to stop on the way to Tahoe. A little hard to find at night, but it’s right next to the U-Haul. If you hit the restaurants you went to far.

Camping with our pup.
Easy to get to. Exactly as we thought. Great place to stay. No frills. Compost toilet. Shower, if you need one. There was a gym (exercise bike). We went during a huge rain... so, that sucked, but I don't think the host had any control of that, lol. Host was awesome, gave us some tips of where to go. Really great location, close to everything. Donner Lake and Truckee, just 25ish minutes away. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs, right off the highway. Our torrential rainfall really killed that noise. Great restaurant walking distance, Rustic Table. We will def be back. We had a lot of fun despite the rain. Dog, not a huge fan of the wetness, so was extra cranky.
