Two crazy locals with a bunch of kids decided to buy a piece of property that they could turn into a Homestead, work the land, live off grid and be happy. One is a musician, one helps play the drums. Together, they are active in their community and love camping, being outdoors. They want everyone to love it as much as they do!

Stephanie's land was great. Simple campground, full weekend. Felt safe around other capers. 2 portapotties avail. decent for sure (most of us reduced to 1 since there was a huge black widow spider in the second one). The outdoor shower was super cute and clean. 1 shared BBQ grill for 4 campsites to share (so just a heads up!) Also, noisy road .. lots of military vehicles and speedsters. Enjoyed the weekend getaway

Clean, convenient, comfortable
We were a group of 9, staying at site #1, one of the tent sites (I would recommend this slightly over site #2 which is a bit closer to the road). Even with near every site in use during our stay, we felt we had plenty of space and privacy. The area was convenient (grocery store and town was close, but not so close that you felt it) National park entrance was around 15 mins away. Great hike called the 49 palms oasis trail only 9 mins away. The site was clean with great views of the mountains and desert. Amenities are well maintained and fun. The two porta potties were the cleanest I’ve ever seen, and the bath-house was fantastic. Water was on the chillier side but nothing felt better than a cold shower in the mid-afternoon heat after hiking. Our host, Stephanie, was very helpful and gracious. As mentioned in some other comments, the road bordering the site is of light to medium use depending on the time of day, so you’re not in “complete isolation” perse’. It wasn’t a problem for my group, and was actually convenient overall, but something to consider if you’re looking for something more remote. Overall, 5/5 stars for us, we would and likely will be returning for another visit next season.

Dont think-just book!
We loved camping on Stephanie's land! From our initial booking to before check in, she was SO kind and helpful. She sent a super detailed message answering all of my questions before I could even ask them which is a huge relief when camping in areas with questionable phone service (in this case, there were tons of phone service but you never know :) When we arrived, it was super clear where we were meant to go, and the tent was locked with a code that she sent us hours before check in. It made me feel safe knowing that not just anyone could come into the campsite unless they were registered guests. The campsite itself was GORGEOUS! It has a beautiful 180 degree view of Twentynine Palms, it was clean, and we were delightfully surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine AND a bundle of firewood (thank you SO much for that, Stephanie!) Our pup made himself super comfortable while we enjoyed all the amenities that her land has to offer including a sand volleyball court, corn hole, a dart board, and we even saw the makings of a fishing pond that we cant wait to return to and enjoy! The bathrooms were clean and stocked with plenty of soap and sanitizer, which is always a bonus when being outdoors all day. The shower is an outdoor solar shower and its painted with a beautiful mural! Heated too, (during the sunny days!) Overall, we just have nothing but amazing things to say about our stay and are so grateful for our time at The Bard and the Hustler! :)

The Bard and the Hustler
Pros: very helpful host. Nice, clean restrooms and shower facility. Lots of games like corn hole and volleyball for campers to play. Twenty nine palms was adorable with everything you could need and easy access to Joshua tree. Cons: NOISE. The campsite is located right off a busy road so you can hear cars going by constantly at 60 mph. And it is WINDY in this area so bd prepared for your tent flapping violently all night. And the wind brings the sand your tent is on directly into your tent which is really unpleasant. And I’m not sure if there was just something wrong while we were staying there, but the host said the shower water would be hot and it was ambient temp at best. Also it would be nice if there was even a little bit of shade at the campsite because it is very bright and hot here. Overall, not a bad camp but if we come back to Joshua tree we’ll probably stay in a local motel.

Renter Beware!
This campsite is by a main road will cars wizzing by and honking all night. Rented tent, when I arrived I noticed a rip in the tent and took a picture with my phone with a time stamp. Two days later she tried to charge me for the rip. I sent the proof to Hip Camp with the time stamp. Renter Beware!

All the amenities made it a great spot for 1st time campers like my family and I - shower, bathroom, yurt, fire pit/bbq grill. There were various activities for kids to keep busy too - volleyball net, horseshoes, dart board, and a cornhole board. Stephanie was so great too! She answered whenever we called and even delivered fire logs to us (at a reasonable cost)! The only downside was the closeness to the main road so it was a pretty noisy night. But I would still reserve a spot here again.
