I booked this as a quick one night excursion for my seven year old daughter and I since she wanted to go camping really bad. We hiked around Lake Cuyamaca, toured Julian for a bit, and headed down to Banner for our stay. The property is a bit funky but in a pretty good way. We stayed at M4 which is in a big meadow clearing - lots of trees on the perimeter and string lights across the meadow. Most of the "T" sites are are bit more divided from each other while T1 and the M sites are in a larger clearing. In that clearing are two covered wagon rentals as well.
There was no one there on our Wednesday night visit, so that was a bonus. There are a bunch of turkeys, squirrels, and even two friendly donkeys up by the entrance. My daughter loved it but there's not a lot to do on site. She was just fine with that and opted to kick back in our hammock and read books. There was a bit of wind but it was welcome on a warm summer day and evening. I'd definitely stay there again, we had a great time.

Great for group camping! We liked the availability of the shower and bathrooms. When we went it was ridiculously windy, so check weather before you go (anywhere). We were assigned site M4, but only found T4. The listing states all sites are numbered, but before you get to the T’s, we didn’t see any numbered sites. All in all a decent stay!
Banner Ranch was awesome both tent and wagon experiences were great. The staff was amazing and realy helpful. I will definitely go back again soon

Banner ranch was a nice camp spot! I will say, if you’re booking multiple sites for group camping, you will be a bit spread out. Site 6 & 7 we’re definitely the best in terms of size. Also, not all campsites came with a fire pit, which was a bit of a bummer, and some of the sites had unusable benches. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but just know that some amenities may be out of service/not available.
I think this would be a great location for the right fit of camper. As a solo female, when I arrived, the spaces were unmarked, I wasn’t quite sure where to go. And the picnic tables have been all moved over into the sites closest to the stage coaches. Being alone I was not able to move the picnic table back over to my site. He’s also quite windy and dusty. Because there were no other campers there and I had no cell service and it was rather windy in a high fire area, I decided to head out. Actually found an open spot for the evening at the local state campground. I do think this place would work for many people. It is beautiful, and there is a wild turkey that went across my path as I was driving down the driveway. Has a lot of potential. I wish you all the best.
It was a cool little spot where you could have your own secluded space and enjoy the forestry vibes. My gf and I will probably stay there without a doubt the next time we’re in Julian. Bring a lamp tho!
