If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We visited Christopher's property during a freezing - rainy November weekend and had the BEST time. The property is amazing with every amenity one could need. BBQ, refrigerator, power outlets, cooking supplies, fire pit, bathroom, shower...ect. The road in was easy for our small cross over SUV and Christopher provided a detailed video with directions ahead of time. The VIEWS are breathtaking. TIP- sides of the shack are canvas so pack accordingly! We did not and it was chilly.
Vanleltine's day camp retreat
Valentine's Day Pandemic Style!
We love to camp, but prefer a real bed.
And then we found this place!
We have an Old Nissan Frontier, no 4x4, but good tires and clearance...I would not take just any car out there after rain! It felt great to get off the roads and slip into the mysterious hillsides of Fallbrook. The landscape is so unusual and beautiful!
Got there just after 1, beautiful clouds in the sky...
Chris had texted us maps and a video...google maps took us to another junction than we wanted, which had us a little confused, but turns out all roads lead to something out there....sorta...we figured it out, just pay attention...the signs helped!
Chris greeted us to say hello...he might have been out there with a tractor freshening the roads and making a new one...and got stuck...so he apologized for some noise getting it out with the help of a neighbors tractor. We went hiking to watch the sunset, so didnt mind at all. Fallbrook life. Thats just how it goes. He more than made up for it!
The place is rustic but has everything you need really. The bathroom and hot shower were nicer than expected. Kitchen had a fridge, electric kettle, sink, dishes...can opener...great grill and outdoor food prep space...pretty good for camping! Nice. Just roll up with your cooler and snacks and do the thing! We only stayed for one night just to jam on our instruments and read and chill and listen to music. The wind was low so we built a fire and cozied up by the pit. Brought our own wood. Would not do that on a windy day though!
Best sunset and stars! Felt like we were gone much longer than a day. Peaceful.
That big bed in the cabin was made with fresh sheets...we just added our goose down comforters and extra blankets . It was chilly! But this beats any cot, camp matress or whatever we usually have!
You pretty much have everything you need.
We will definitely come back!
This place was great to unplug for a few days, beautiful sunsets and warm mornings. There isn't much cell coverage (+bonus) and the road there is a bit rough I drove a 01 Jeep Cherokee and had no problem. And it was fun. Coffee in the morning was one of the best parts, cozy lounge area outside with lights and couches. Our dog also had a blast running around playing camp security. This place was a great way to escape the noise of the world and focus on something else. We'll be back.
Exceeded all expectations
Chris’s place was wonderful. Best to have a 4wd, but a beautiful and very remote setting. Excellent views. Chris was an amazing host and made sure we had everything we needed. He has made the land and site very beautiful.
Loved this place!
Christopher (and Piper) were extremely gracious and amazing hosts. I love this place. I was impressed by all the accommodations and the privacy. I loved this post. I was graced by our first rainfall of the year and and some unexpected hail, but I was kept nice and dry. I felt honored to hear the coyotes howling and heckling eachother in between rain breaks. I will definitely be back as I can't wait to experience it in better weather! Thanks, Christopher for creating such an awesome spot. Look forward to coming back and hopefully playing with Piper again! :)
I couldn’t have asked for more. The place is just as the owner described. It was a perfect quick get away not too far away from the city. Wilderness, desolate, in the throws of nature. The owner, Chris was exceptionally kind and super communicative from the beginning till my departure. The place had everything I needed and well maintained. I could definitely see Chris’s passion in this place and feel very lucky to find this desolate spot. My trip was way too short for this time and will definitely visit again.
