Perfect birthday getaway!
Perfect spot. I just wish I could have had more time to stay. Took my grandma and aunt to celebrate my birthday, and it was a fantastic experience. The lodge is equipped with most of the things you could use. Just bring your cover/ blankets.
About the experience, it was full moon, and it was amazing to see the sunset and minutes later the moon rising on the east side. Also, being able to see infinite mountains on the horizon while using the restroom!?! It pays off the trip 😂
Easy to access, as long as you follow the written explanation, Google map, and video, there is no way you will get lost.
Yes please and thank you
So amazing to arrive at night. Little scary for a low Nissan. Waking up with the Wildlife birds and scattered ground creatures Without traffic noise was my favorite. Comfortably Rested, had clean sheets, towels and pillow cases if needed. Also kitchen supplies, wonderful if we brought food. So Greatful this Gem was found! One of the best bathroom views
Cheers to the next Hipcamper
Bailes Off-grid Lodge is a truly special place! It was my last stay on a super long road trip -- thank heavens!! I was quite weary when I arrived and it very quickly restored me. Chris is a thoughtful host who, in various ways, made sure I found my way to the site. He offers the tips you need to navigate the road if you're not a farm girl like me. ;-) I can't wait to go back. Thanks, Chris!
What a place and what a view!
What a place and what a view! Perfect location to disconnect and get in touch with nature. Found plenty to do around including Santa Margarita Trail and the trail on-site. However the property is also perfect to simply stay-in, sunbathe and catch sunrise/sunsets. I did hear some rustling the first night (maybe a desert mouse?); but did not mind it because after all you are deep in nature. Chris was very responsive and helpful. I will definitely book again.
If you’re looking for a getaway anywhere near LA or San Diego, this is the place!
Chris’s relaxing property had everything we were looking for to unplug for the weekend. Big plus too if you have dogs - our furry boys loved running around for the sniffs while we fired up the grill. It is a bit rocky on the way in, but we were just fine in our 2WD.
Chris was also an incredible host who was readily available to answer questions and offer tips for the surrounding trails. We can’t wait to come back!
Cozy, secluded spot.
Awesome spot for those that want to get away from it all. Good hiking trails right outside of the lodge. The outdoor shower was warm and had a great view of the surrounding mountains.
