Enjoy a leisurely break from your outdoor activities at Soquel Vineyards tasting room and patio just 2 1/2 miles up the road or Bargetto Winery just a mile down the road. You can bring a bottle of your favorite wine or beer back to your campsite where you'll enjoy the peace and tranquility the forest has to offer.
Coastal adventures await you just 2 and 1/2 miles to the beaches in Capitola Village...another mile from there to the 'Hook' surf spot...a short walk from there along the cliffs to famed surf spot and home of Jack O'Neil (RIP) Pleasure Point and the 'Barrel Burrito' at the Point Market, a local favorite. Enjoy some local craft beer and good eats at Nubo (New Bohemian Brewery) on 41st ave just a couple of blocks from the beach.
For that fine dining experience, book a ride in a vintage car to the famed Shadowbrook Restaurant overlooking Capitola Village and beach.
When you're done exploring all that our coastal communities have to offer, come back to your sweet spot along the banks of Bates Creek and take in the wonderful sounds of nature. This camp is in a rural/residential neighborhood, so you will see homes along the street and you will be SHARING AN OPEN AREA WITH ANOTHER SITE 'CAMPSITE 2' which accomodates RVs. Your site is uneven ground so leveling a vehicle for sleep is difficult. If you want more privacy, you're welcome to book both sites. This is a one lane road with a 15 mph speed posted and no exit as it ends at the Land of Medicine Buddha...you will hear the cars as they drive by. NO HOOKUPS SO MUST BE SELF CONTAINED

Christie's spot was very beautiful and it was just what we were looking for. It was a perfect little spot to pitch a tent for the night. No water or toilet so would probably be better for an rv but we made it work and enjoyed it nonetheless.
Edge of town, unique houses along a woodsy road. My tent site was across the road, next to a ravine. Pluses: shady, beautiful setting, the camping site was set up with a table and chairs and Christie does have the best-camouflaged and cleanest portapotty I have ever used. Minuses:. It is pretty steep beyond the edge, so I would stop in the road and set up a light at the edge so I could tell where I was going as I backed in. Also, it was gravel plus dirt, so a little hard to get tent stakes in. Maybe more suited to an rv or van.

Great little spot to spend a night. Christie was a cool host. Good energy in a quiet neighborhood along the creek!

Thanks! It was great meeting you and I'm glad you enjoyed the peace the redwoods offer :-)
Unfortunately this site is directly next to another so if you want to level your vehicle there is zero privacy! I was very dissapointed because I paid for what I thought was privacy. I don't know who had a generator but it was off and on all night. We got up early and left.

I'm sorry you didn't have an enjoyable stay. The camera is a wildlife camera that deters strangers from going down the trail as neighborhood kiddos and their doggos play at the creek. It's a preventative measure for keeping them safe. I will highlight in the listing that generators aren't allowed. I hope the rest of your travels run smoothly :-)
We had a nice time tent camping at Christie’s site across from her home. It sits right next to the road, but there is a nice privacy fence. It overlooks a cute creek area with a pathway down to the water. This spot is definitely best for RV camping since there is no bathroom available. Thanks Christie!

I'm glad you enjoyed your time in the Redwoods and hope you come back again :-)
A lovely space that is both residential and in a beautiful redwood grove. There is privacy for a tent and porta-potty, which you cannot see from the campsite. Walk a couple steps up the owner's driveway and to the right, there is a path through the grass that leads to it. It was a great space to stay for a night before hitting the road again. I recommend walking further up the road to see more large trees!

Thanks for the great review! I'm so glad you had a good stayover and look forward to hosting you again if your adventures bring you back to Santa Cruz :-)
This is a lovely spot and ideally located near Capitola, Aptos, and Santa Cruz. Very peaceful at night with crickets and the creek. Christie was very kind and welcoming.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed your time here and look forward to hosting you again if your adventures bring you back here :-)
It was a great site! The creek was a wonderful addition. We had a fantastic time!

Thanks! I'm so glad you had a good time and I hope you come back again! :-)
We loved staying at the caravan at Christie’s property! It is private, comfy, cute, and you fall asleep with only the sound of crickets/views of redwoods/flowers! We also loved that it was a 10 minute drive from pleasure point! Would stay again for sure

Thanks for the great review and for your flexibility with your booking. I hope to host you again this summer :-)

Thanks for the great review! I'm so glad you enjoyed your time amongst the redwoods. I will take your advice and put some solar lights along the edge with the steep drop off. :-)
