**We have an upgrade this year (summer 2022)! A real flushing toilet and a shower! We also added an RV dump station.**

Plenty of room for big tents.

You'll be camping on the sand and can drive right up to your camp spot. If you enjoy a good hammock there are great trees for that here.

There is a 4-person metal table available for you to use with 2 chairs and a fire pit.

Put your feet in the cool, refreshing water, or swim in the 5-foot deep swimming hole. Feel free to fish for blue gill or trout, catch crawdads, explore along the creek, pet the farm animals or sit around the bonfire.

You may be sharing the communal creek and beach area with other campers.

When you arrive follow the signs down to the creek.

There is potable water available on a light pole near the corner of the barn. There is also a communal hose at the upper campsite on the light pole with the Hipcamp sign.

**Firewood and Fresh Eggs are usually available for purchase from our farm shop**

Things to do:

We have a variety of farm animals that love attention; dairy goats, pigs (seasonally), mini-cows, chickens, ducks and livestock guardian dogs. A family of barn cats roam the property and keep the snakes at bay.

You are welcome to pick wildflowers and wild mint and anise. Wild blackberries are abundant in late July and August. The wild grapes are delicious in October.

We are very conveniently located just a 45 minute drive from Sacramento. 1 hour and 15 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe.

15 minutes from amazing mountain biking trails and lakes in both Auburn, Grass Valley, or Nevada City. 20 minutes from the American River Confluence with lots of water sports. Go river rafting in Coloma, a mere 30-minute drive, or check out the panning at Malakoff Diggins State Park. So much to do here.

Auburn and Nevada City have lovely farmers markets to visit on the weekends, as well as delicious restaurants and coffee shops.

If you'd like recommendations, just ask.

***Please understand that we are a working mini farm with livestock guardian dogs. These dogs are NOT friendly with other dogs.  Bring your dog at your own risk.***

The dogs do bark at night to protect our animals from predators. There are plenty of farm noises and smells, as well as the laughter of children filling the air. The sights and sounds are sure to fill your senses.

Charity is kind and responsive. And the creekside spot is secluded and charming. And the stars at night were incredible! I am a solo female traveler and felt very safe here and met the nice family that was also hipcamping on the main level. The little market the farm has for sale is cute and inviting. And the toilet that I found is indeed a bucket inside a private tent, just in case that is important to you. Love the area and the animals! I'd stay again.

This is the view from the creek towards the property.

We loved our trip! The spot is beautiful and right next to the creek, which we could go in, and we spent time trying to catch small fish, pollywogs and crawdads in a bucket. We liked saying hello to the goats and very friendly cats. It was hot, but the water kept things cooler and there was plenty of shade.

The spot is as advertised and Charity was very friendly. Lovely little creek meandering through the property. It is a working farm with goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and cows, a short drive from downtown Grass Valley.

Tent camping on Charity’s farm was such a fun experience! We set up our tent next to the creek which was pretty secluded, if you are looking for privacy. Charity’s kids were so sweet and showed us all the animals and told us a little bit about them. There is a bathroom conveniently located in the barn. There is also a variety of goods to purchase like fresh eggs, apple butter and chocolate treats. They were delicious! At night we made a fire using the pit and made s’mores. We even had some cats sleep on top of our tent at night. We had a great time staying at the farm and would love to visit again.

The creek side camp spot was perfect. The creek flows all year and is the perfect temperature to sit in all afternoon. Charity and her family are awesome awesome hosts. We are looking forward to coming back!

Charity was a wonderful host! Her farm is beautiful and the campsite is well located alongside a burbling creek that lulled us all to sleep each night. Her children were excellent farm guides, teaching our little ones all about life on the farm, feeding and caring for pigs, cows, and goats - our kids even got to bottle feed a baby goat with her daughter's guidance! We highly recommend this site - such a great experience!

Charity was a very responsive and kind host. It was nice to sleep by the creek while listening to the sound of the water flowing by. As mentioned in the description, Charity's place is a farm, and her daughters were a delight to engage with as they talked about their animals and bottle feeding their goat, Sapphire. There'll be cute farm animals, including two cats - one which happily joined us by the fire pit, and another that stubbornly tried to get to our food when eating! It's not very quiet - farm sounds as expected, but also neighbors and the highway, but the creek, bird, and farm animal sounds help to give you a nice nature vibe away from the city. Bring bug spray (Charity lent us a mosquito repelling device - thank you!) for when mosquito activity is high (it reduces at night because it's so much cooler). The price felt a bit high compared to other hipcamps we've stayed at, but Charity had graciously left the previous camper's firewood for us and with the beautiful fire pit it easily became our favorite part about this spot. This and the fragrance of wild mint - really loved it. I also enjoyed seeing the farm dog in action, guarding the animals at night and napping around during the day while the goats and chickens hung around and gave him/her company.

Beautiful fire pit that made the campsite super cozy, along with the sound of the creek. Loved it!

Delightful weekend camp

I had a delightful experience camping at Charity's farm! I spent many hours sitting by the creek listening to the burble of water over rock, watching and hearing birds dipping amongst the trees, smelling the wild mint on the breeze, and listening to farm beasties in the background. I enjoyed a peaceful campsite with only a little low-level neighbor noise on occasion. Charity has a very nice "little farm store" in her barn with fresh eggs, granola, canned fruit butters and other amenities. This is a great place for first-time campers and families, as well as experienced campers who want a quick weekend away or a base camp while visiting the surrounding area. I plan on returning in the future. Tips: The site is large, somewhat sandy, and could easily accommodate 3+ tents. Bring a rake to even out your tent spot. Shade was limited, so a sun cover would be helpful. Hose water and a "luggable loo" setup are available up a small incline, otherwise it is dispersed camping.

Ashley is a very nice host. The aite was quiet and we were able to camp right by the creek. We enjoyed swimming. The toilet was very clean and no smells. The farm animals were fun to watch and i thought my kids would have been wanting to interact more with them, but they enjoyed swimming more. Even tho it was too dry for a fire, we had a very good night looking at the stars. The site is very quiet and we could only hear the crickets and frogs when we went to sleep.
